WWF sure gave Dusty a kickass theme song.
I've got nothing really else to add. That song just rules.

Didn't Dusty own up that the dots was him? I mean, given his background, he probably just figured "WWF is the kiddy wrestling show, this is what they'll want up North", and I mean, he wasn't that far off the mark.

It was so awesome seeing 60 year old Dusty coming out on a Raw dancing to this theme song. It was just as awesome seeing him come out to the song or celebrate a win to the song on a PPV in 1989 or 1990.

Simply put, Dusty's "Common Man Boogie" does not sound like Jimmy Hart. It sounds like a female vocalist. Most notably, he's the back up singer on Shawn Michaels's theme.

Not a source. Jimmy Hart & JJ Maguire were the credited songwriters on WWF albums. WWE did not always credit the vocalist on a track. Maguire is Hart's writing partner. The same website lists Hart and Maguire as the "artist" for "Sexy Boy", "I'm the Mountie!", and "Cool, Cocky, Bad", which were obviously sung by Michaels (or Sherri for the earlier version), Jacques Rougeau, and Honky Tonk Man.

That just says he’s an artist on it, not the lead singer. WWE is credited as an artist too. He may well be a backing singer on it but there’s no way the lead vocalist is him.

Yeah it's a lady singing it. Jimmy could sing, but he sounds nothing like a female soul singer.

WWE did not always credit the vocalist on a track. The ghost of Bernard Kenny agrees with that statement. Don't ever listen to Rick Derringer sing Real American. You will not enjoy it.

Jimmy did a lot of themes and that includes WCW as a producer. I believe he was pretty much the guy before Johnson in WWE. He did a lot the male vocals for themes.

Imagine if instead of Common Man, he entered to an actual polka.

Hart and Johnston were composers for WWE at the same time. Hart created the theme Owen Hart used until 1997 as well as Kona Crush's music. I was surprised to learn that they only worked together on one piece of music (the Savage/Elizabeth wedding song).
