Speaking of Joker's... I really enjoy the Red Hood animated movie except for one aspect, John DiMaggio is by no means a bad actor but he's really just playing John DiMaggio in the flick and the performance always felt off and uninspired (helped even less that they tweaked Joker's design in the movie to more resemble Ledger's Joker in a roll of the eyes moment). See, I loved John DiMaggio's Joker in "Under the Red Hood" simply because it felt like he was actually trying to do his own thing as the character. It was the first time in a very long time where it felt like a VA wasn't simply trying to imitate either Mark Hamill or Heath Ledger's Joker in some way.

He did his own thing and while I couldn't help but hear Bender sometimes lol everything from the laugh to the way he did his voice was his own thing and it was nice to hear. You can sense the crazy in him

Mike Tyson. Yeah I know he's a real dude. Am I wrong? I mean technically he is a cartoon character too so it fits even if the real man is voicing him Speaking of which, how the hell he got a cartoon is beyond me with his rap sheet but time heals all or better yet kids just know they hear a funny voice from a guy with a tattoo on his face Uh, the audience for Mike Tyson Mysteries sure arent kids (at least it's not aimed at them) and most of them likely know about what Tyson did.

Let me suggest Brock Lesnar. Chyna too.

I got another...
Ted Knight as The Riddler in the 1968 Batman series.
I mean, a James Cagney impersonation, with more broken sentences?

H Jon Benjamin is one of my favourite voice actors and I love him as Archer and the Coach from Home Movies. But for whatever reason I just don't think his voice suits Bob from Bob's Burgers. To me, his voice doesnt really fit Archer, Benjamin's voice sounds more fitting coming from older characters like Coach or Bob, but Archer is too young (or at least young looking) for it to work.

The narrator for the Song of Ice and Fire novels did a pretty damn awful job when it came to voicing the characters. For Tyrion he chose a sort Welsh-Irish accent in a high, nasally voice, Littlefinger sounds like a stoned Stephen Fry, and his Lord Varys talks like Snagglepuss with an overflowing mouthful of spit.

I like the How To Train Your Dragon movies.
But I never liked the way the young characters speak with heavy American & Canadian accents.

Undertaker in Suburban Commando ;-)
But going back to Batman, how could I forget....
OLAN SOULE AS BATMAN.
Okay, I know he's a part of most people's childhoods and one of the two first Bat-voices a lot of us ever heard. But even as a kid, Adam West's take made more sense to me because of his deeper voice. Soule sounded like someone's uncle. Whereas Casey Kasem did a good job at a cartoon version of Robin ala Burt Ward.

This really makes me want a Game of Thrones radio adaptation using Hanna-Barbera characters as the basis for the voices. "They say a naked man holds few secrets, a flayed man none" in the tone of Huckleberry Hound is too good a concept to not be realized.

Insert wrong sounding Muppets comment here, I guess? David Ogden Stiers took over as the B:TAS Penguin for that Batwoman direct to video movie and......was too jarring a change from Paul Williams (who, after many years, Timm & Co just decided wasn't a good fit for Penguin anymore). Likewise, Clive Revill was the original voice of Alfred on B:TAS and was not a good fit at all - Efrem Zimbalist Jr took over for him and, well, kids know that name for a reason. And despite being a great voice for Duke and others, Michael Bell's Major Bludd was not a good idea...... especially when I'd then later see the character in comics. The heartless mercenary character which Hama pulled off well in stories was instantly damaged because, like some folk out there, I immediately think of the cartoon voice and it ruins who I'm seeing in the comic. Frank Welker as Garfield. Just sounds like bored Fred. Possibly the first time I've ever heard someone complain about a Frank Welker voice, but I totally get it. Lorenzo Music's voice is a tough one to match and even Welker doesn't quite reach it.

About that Batwoman movie....they also replaced Bane's actor with Hector Elizondo, and thus made him into a Spanglish speaker on the levels of El Dorado from the Superfriends.
Whoever Wonder Woman was in the Legendary Super Powers Show season. Seemed like someone doing a bad Shannon Farnon impersonation. B.J. Ward was a much happier medium when they got to the Super Powers Team.
When they couldn't get Lori Petty to reprise Livewire on Justice League (think it was Jennifer Hale on JL).

I keep forgetting Elizondo started voicing Bane that late in the game, I had the misconception that he took over for Henry Silva (still with us, God bless) during the show. Silva was a better Bane, though I didn't think Elizondo was that bad.

A personal one, but....
I liked Lennie Weinrib Scrappy-Doo more than Don Messick Scrappy. Maybe cause when I was younger, I didn't like the comedy short/Fred, Daphne, and Velma-less format that started in '80, and Messick reminded me of that.
Another Weinrib characterization I preferred? Freddy Flintstone on The Flintstone Kids. At least he sounded like a younger version of Fred; as such, I'll name the Scott Menville version of Fred for this list. (throw in whoever did young Wilma when he took over too)
On the other hand, Weinrib's version of Gomez Addams on the Hanna-Barbera Addams Family cartoon of the '70s? Totally doesn't work. BTW, you can hear Weinrib Gomez if you look up the "Smokey the Bear" Addams PSA online. Did John Astin suddenly get busy between the New Scooby-Doo Movies and this series?
