'Codenames' is great. Kids can play it. Adults can play it. Anyone can play it really. I've also yet to meet anyone who didn't enjoy it. You can play it with two people, you can play it with 20 people. IMO it's a TTG staple. Do you think you guys like social deduction games? Cause games like 'Coup' and 'Resistance' can be a lot of fun. Though certain personalities might get heated by the deception gameplay. I've seen it happen a lot. It can also be hilarious so long as it doesn't get too hot. I also like 'Gloom' and 'Love Letter' since you don't need a whole lot of people to play them and they move fairly quickly. Good for times when you have smaller turnouts and you don't want to play anything too serious. I also really enjoy 'Red Dragon Inn.' It's got drinking and gambling elements that you can add to the meta gameplay if you so choose. But also has good opportunity for some light roleplaying which IMO makes half the enjoyment of the game. Seconding Codenames. It's a fantastic game.

They didn't release many volumes, so there isn't any replay value once you finish all of them, but Hasbro's Shout About Movies are very enjoyable.

Had a gaming session over the weekend and just wanted to chip in with some games that work out well with 6 players. Drakon - Place tiles and collect a value of 10 coins before the other adventurers or Drakon herself steps in, sabotage the other players chances or go for the gold yourself. Always different, a lot of fun & quite short time wise to play. Formula D - Race around the track in a number of colourful car meeples. Will you judge those corners right, will the other players gamble to overtake, will hte dice gods smile? My car exploded in a ball of fire Ethnos - Area control across three eras. Will you form a band of orcs or a flimsy skeleton band? Can you out compete the other places and claim enough regions before the third age is over? Lots of variety and fun in this longer game.

Amoeba Wars is a board game by Avalon Hill. Up to six can play. You start on a planet on the edge of the board and build a fleet and fight your way to the center planet (Saestor). Along the way you fight empty systems, other players, space amoebas (who eat your ships), and a super strong “doomsday machine” who can chew through your fleet in the blink of an eye.

Betrayal at House on the Hill Explore a spooky house while slowly losing your sanity. Eventually it turns out one of you will betray the other players in one of 50 different scenarios, and the game completely turns into a different one. Tons of replay value.

I actually kind of hate Betrayal. The Haunts are such a crapshoot. Some are fun, some aren’t. Sometimes you have everything set up and it takes like 2 rounds to end, other times it can be a grind fest. And if you have a weak player or someone who doesn’t grasp rules that well on their own, it can turn into a huge mess. Had more than one friend outside my core board game friends throw their hands up in the air and give up effectively after they had to play the bad guy and couldn’t handle it. Betrayal at Baldur’s Gate partially fixes that by having a bunch of haunts with no betrayer.

Formula D definitely got added to my rotation for when I play board games with people who aren’t super into them. I’ve done well with that, Ticket To Ride, Sheriff of Nottingham, Spyfall, Codenames, Deception: Murder In Hong Kong and Secret Hitler.

I would be so interested in trying and buying all kinds of rpg/board games (love the designs, would be awesome decorations at the same time...), but sadly I don't see my nerdiest friends anymore as life paths haven't crossed in years, because of that the idea is totally out of window as I don't want to play alone. Games like Alias and Trivial Pursuit are pretty fun when drunk. ~ ' had so much fun playing some Monopoly from the start of 90s or late 80s many hours couple mounths ago.

Two weeks ago I got to play Kingdomino which reminded me of this thread. Not sure if Ultimo Gallos is still meeting up for board games but it is very straightforward easy to learn game you could take a look at - boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/204583/kingdominoAlso Cosmic Encounter is lot of hijinks, backstabbing, fun (but maybe too much for the original post requirements.) Possibly playing Eldritch Horror this weekend which is a v.heavy lovecraftian co-op game.

Family favorite is “Aggravation”. Hesitate to suggest it cause it’s awfully simple compared to other stuff but it’s fun.

I started playing the digital version of Scythe a few months ago. I think it's time I got the Invaders From Afar expansion for it.

Got a new card game over a week ago,More Dude, and we finally played it last night. Decent easy to learn and play multiplayer game. And it is finished fairly fast.
Also got the hunting expansion for the Oregon Trail card game. Haven't gotten a chance to play it yet.

The way it is set up the game lasts at most 2 hours but normally an hour. All of us had grown up playing normal Monopoly and hated how long it took, like Risk and Life. So finding a variant that plays much much faster and has less money issues was great.
