Rockstar games deciding to kill off Johnny Klebitz and making the entire Lost MC be complete jobbers.
John Marston in RDR. It was beautiful storytelling and cinematics, and damn near made me tear up, but John was so cool that I didn't want to play as his son, who lacked said coolness imo.

Arturo from Sliders. That show had such rotten luck.
Karen Paige in the Daredevil comics. incredibly, this death has actually stuck for a decade...Mysterio killed himself in the same story and even he came back eventually

Darwin in whichever X-Men film perpetual answer. Lazy, lazy writing, because you just know they cared about the visual and nothing else. Many of the Pacific Rim deaths in both movies, to be frank. First Class. Yup, out of the thousands of mutants, you pick the one who's power is specifically "not dying" to kill off, just so a ridiculous choice.

Gwen in Amazing Spider-Man 2. I don't care if it's canon, they should have went against canon. Emma Stone was great as Gwen, and her chemistry with Garfield was off the charts. Cordelia in Angel. Not so much for the character, but for the IRL reason it happened. Yeah, that was complete bullshit. Joss can be a petty vindictive asshole, the handling of Cordy is a reason so many Whedon fans weren't really shocked when that stuff came out about him. Stone's chemistry with Garfield aside, a lot of Gwen's traits in that movie were borrowed from versions of MJ, mainly because the real Gwen is as interesting as blades of grass. I'm more bummed they cut MJ out of the final cut and denying Peter his actual endgame yet again

Norrington in the third Pirates of the Caribbean movie, and to a lesser extent Governor Swann. The story had gotten so bloated with characters that the writers practically said "Oh well, might as well kill 'em." Hated that, Norrington in particular, and yeah it felt exactly that way. They had a really interesting arc going on with Norrington, and then just hastily kill him off.

The Robb Stark thing was incredibly problematic, at least in terms of the TV show of Game of Thrones (never read the books). To me, Robb was the obvious person to end up on the Iron Throne at the end of the series and killing him off was done for pure shock value. It's kind of amazing how badly they screwed his character up on the show really, going from season 2 "Yeah, Robb Stark, baby! Kick some Lannister ass!" to how heatless he was in season 3 once Tywin and Co. simply left and went back to King's Landing. The Red Wedding was a shocking episode, but I would have had Robb somehow survive it while his mom and everyone else died. Now instead of this bleak, fatalistic situation you have a reignited white hot babyface Robb Stark out to swear revenge on the Freys, Lannisters, and everyone else. Meanwhile Jon Snow can fight off the Night King and the white walkers.
The slow decline of GOT as a show really can be traced back to Robb Stark dying. Season 4 was possibly the best season of the show in the aftermath of the Red Wedding (Tyrion on trial for his life, all the stuff at The Wall with the walkers and the free folk uprising) but by season 5 you could tell they had no idea where this stuff was going long term. There was so much crappy stuff on GOT in seasons 5 and 6, from Jonathan Pryce's band of religious wackos that sucked bad and went on forever, to Bran's weird 3 Eyed Raven stuff with Max Von Sydow, the incoherent Arya/Faceless Dude nonsense, the whole Dorne plot that fizzled (why bring on Alexander Siddig just to kill him?).
Speaking of which I was also frustrated with Jorah's death in the last season, given how much screen time he had throughout the series. I tend to think him dying along with two of the dragons and Missandei is what sent Daenerys over the edge but there wasn't any character development to explain that. Even so, wouldn't it have made more sense to keep him alive until the last episode and then have him be the one to kill his Khaleesi once she destroyed most of King's Landing? Then he could be the one sent to the Night's Watch to take over from his dead father, while Jon Snow could then reveal himself to be the true heir to the Iron Throne.

In Cave Story kinda.
Mostly because I could have saved here but I missed one small item and then the character was gone because of it.

The death of Ted Kord/Blue Beetle. In retrospect, his death did lead to the arrival of Jaime Reyes, so it wasn’t all bad.

JK Rowling killed off Lupin AND Tonks because she felt like she shouldn't have let Arthur Weasley live in Order.
Sod Off, JK you already killed off like 20 people in that book, Tonks and Lupin were just unnecessary.

Rockstar games deciding to kill off Johnny Klebitz and making the entire Lost MC be complete jobbers. Cosigned. Why in the entire hell does the game keep trying to make Trevor sympathetic or imply Michael was unreasonable for attempting to set him up in Yankton when THAT is his reintroduction?

Sod Off, JK you already killed off like 20 people in that book, Tonks and Lupin were just unnecessary. Not to mention the hundreds she probably retroactively killed due to infection because wizards in the 1800s pooped their pants because they were too lazy to invent bathrooms.

Omar in The Wire was the biggest for me. There was also Richard Harrow from Boardwalk Empire, but his story was one specifically about his downward spiral and it wasn’t so much “rage” as it was crushing disappointment he couldn’t make it out in one piece.

It ties a neat little bow on the Marauders, and really the whole generation of wizards that was hit hardest by the first Wizarding War. Tonks dying, though, was just a low blow, and yeah, f*** JK for that.

She's still alive. They made a point of showing her jumping off the bed, and running out of the room. She's still alive, she got to a safe room or escape pod or something. Roxy lives! I didn't notice that but hope so, even if they don't make a third one and I guess if Harry survived the first movie, anyone can There is a 3rd movie coming out in February, but I keep seeing different things. That's it's a prequel, or it wraps up Eggsy and Harry's story. Egerton said he's not in it. So I don't know what's going on with it.

Though a combination of "pissed off" and "devastated" is probably more accurate.

A movie called Eden Lake
I have been upset by character deaths etc but this one for some reason has always stuck with me as the one I f***ing hate the most
Basic gist is this woman and her husband go on a trip to of course a lake only to get hounded by several little shit for brains kids in which her husband dies anyways she eventually looks like she survived the ordeal and finds a family and you think oh happy ending she atleast survived.
Nope turns out this is the family that the lead kid belongs to and the family then learns she killed the other kids (because otherwise she would have gawd damn died) and then in an instant turn on her ..sending the kid to his room she is dragged into the bathroom to be raped and then presumeably killed and the movie ends with her screams as the kid puts on the husbands shades he took from him and he smirks.
I know it is a trope especially in horror where the villan wins just to subvert expectations but f*** that ending.

The off-screen nature of Tonks and Lupin dying in both the Harry Potter books and movies really pissed me off. To the point where I thought it was a red herring at first because of the unceremonious way they died. But nope, they just showed up dead.
