All I know about him is that he debuted to near silence (that Raw crowd which was so disinterested in the show, except for Ricochet they popped for him, that WWE made a video mocking them) and I've just presumed that it's been near silence for him ever since.
First impressions are everything.

Worth noting that Ric’s gotten fairly consistent pops from since then, while I couldn’t tell you how Aleister has been received due to the lack of time he’s been in the ring.

Yeah, the crowd was dead for his Raw debut, but the next night on SD they were really into him when he wrestled Andrade. He pops the crowds pretty consistently when he's in the ring. The weirdest thing about these promos is they feel like heel promos, yet he's still a babyface when he's actually out there.

I kinda feel his promos would have a much bigger impact if he was fighting faces rather random heels... or if he was in an actual angle, for that matter.

The reaction of a guy who's dead inside from constantly doing these goofy segments.

He's one of the few highly regarded guys from NXT that I just can't connect with. People say it was better when he didn't talk, but I still think I would find the gimmick a bit cornball.

This is why I dreaded his call up.
Unless this ends with The Fiend saying "Let Me In", drop this already. If they can't find something else for Aleister Black to do, then the creative team is even worse than I thought.

First impressions are everything. Crowds actually took to him and Ricochet immediately. They were a really fun team. They were into him when he came out of his hidey hole to fight Cesaro as well. Dude is definitely over. I actually think the promos worked surprisingly well for a while, but Cesaro showing up to answer the challenge should've been the end.

I use the same approach for making millions and getting a super model wife. I just lazily sit in my room wishing it into the void and waiting for it to magically happen without actually doing anything proactive like going outside. ONE OF THESE DAYS SHE'S GONNA KNOCK WITH A BRIEFCASE FULL OF MONEY!

I like them. It's unique and adds to the overall character in my opinion.

The best angle I've seen him be a part of it involved only one sentence from him. The Velveteen Dream angle. He might have said other shit in the buildup, but he didn't need to - the match said everything and his one sentence afterwards was the icing on the cake. So yeah, taking a guy who is known for his pyrotechnic wrestling and speaks English as a second language (very well, but still) is definitely the guy you want monologuing to camera for weeks.

What point is there for the promos to have this tone? It's like he's going heel as all he is doing is turning people off with these promos.

The fact that they're having a guy who's deeply not good at talking do almost nothing but talk is just
Unsurprising but *wow*

All I want to know is why are they still doing it. They paid off the initial run of it with Cesaro, and then he disappeared, and then he started doing it again...
