I'm considering getting a macbook, since I can save about 200 with my student ID.
I was wondering what you Mac users think. Is the OS easy to get used to?

Are you literate with Windows at all?
The switch itself is strange, because stuff you're used to is just slightly moved around, but after a few months you should fully have the hang of everything you need to do, but you'll pick it up competently within a few weeks...
Oh, and how stable it is will amaze you if you've never consistently used it (as opposed to Windows)...

I've heard nothing but good things about Macs so far, with the main selling point being how reliable they are.

It's actually pretty good, but I ABHOR the fact they don't have a right mouse button. Pisses me off to no end. Other than that, I envy you.

I believe that the new mouse, has a pressure sensitve area that is like a left and right...and if not, just do what i did, and buy a wireless mouse w/ right-left buttons.

The new Apple mouse does have a right click button and a scrolling wheel.

I've owned both and always had a hard time justifying the cost of a Mac. There's times I loved it and thought it was the best in the world, other times I realized how much I spent and wished I'd gotten a PC that does the same thing without the pretty bells and whistles. I ultimately became primarily a PC person because I started having minor hiccups with compatibility issues, especially with Office. They'll tell you it's 99% compatible, but I'll be damned if I didn't find that 1% early and often.
