I sincerely don't mean to be like "I told everyone so" but way back when people first started cutting the cord and stopping buying physical media because it was cheaper and/or easier to get streaming services, I remarked "until every company realizes they can start their own streaming service". And here we are.
The only thing I'm surprised about is that it took this long. It was only ever a matter of time until this happened.

Until the subscription services start having contract terms, I don't see a real reason to complain. It isn't like anyone needs to sign up for everything all at once.

Like I say this as someone who watches YouTube more than Netflix and any other streaming but I’m not mega attached to any service to watch stuff I know I probably won’t unless it’s with the group I usually watch it with or occasional trips and the like. I’m not inclined to watch everything and if I am, hey, I’ll get a trial, watch it and cancel it. If there are contracted terms like the TV providers here...I won’t get it. That simple.

I like that the synopsis for Saved By The Bell has Zack Morris getting in hot water for poor political decision-making.
Because Zack Morris is trash.

Until the subscription services start having contract terms, I don't see a real reason to complain. It isn't like anyone needs to sign up for everything all at once. I do, because originally a couple of streaming services covered just about anything I might want to watch. Now they are all off splintered somewhere else and my options are becoming limited again unless I want to start forking out a bunch of money.

Stranger Things and Bojack are out this month, better grab Netflix. Star Trek comes out next month? Okay, cancel Netflix and switch to CBS for the month etc. I rarely maintain multiple subscriptions, other then specialised like WWE, I pick up and drop regularly. You don’t need to subscribe to everything year round It’s really no worse then having to call up the cable company and order HBO while Game of Thrones is on, or AMC during Walking Dead season. Hell, probably easier then calling the cable company

I thought NBC and fox owned Hulu Why create a separate streaming option? Everyone sees more money in putting their own content behind a paywall instead of farming it out to other companies, even when they have a controlling interest in said company. Having to negotiate with places like Netflix and Amazon made them feel like their own services would be more profitable to them since more people were moving away from cable and broadcasting to cordcutting, ignoring the fact that people can only afford so many services before they hit a tipping point. They're going to kill the goose to get to the golden eggs faster. I can easily see Hulu going away in a few years. While Netflix has done good with building their own brands (depending on who you ask, due to their track record with canceling shows), Hulu seems to have fewer shows that have found an audience, outside of The Handmaid's Tale, and losing wide swaths of their shows back to Fox and NBC could prove to be costly to them.

Disney owns the controlling chunk of Hulu now and will be using it to put non Disney+ stuff. Like anything rated R.

Which is why I can see a scenario where that does well internationally because of the library of stuff they have now. So for me, I share a Netflix subscription, a Crunchyroll one, a Funimation one, share a WWE Network one (that I rarely use), share a Amazon one and would gladly subscribe to Hulu and Disney+ when that’s here. Honestly, that’s everything I need with NBC shipping stuff all over the place to get more income.

Disney+ (Including ESPN and Hulu) will be safe along with Netflix thanks to name value. Everything else will eventually die.
Who would buy this? You need much more than Parks and Rec as the headliner. Should have at least waited a year until The Office could come onto the service so that they could have the big name on day one. Instead, Office is coming a year after launch, a time where not many people are going to still be on the fence as far as subscribing.
