To makes matters worse, Flair is suing him for the "ric" part of his name. Soon he'll just be Ced. It's cool though cos Al Snow will become his manager and constantly yell WHAT DOES EVERYBODY WANT? CED!

I wish everyone at WWE would just change their phone numbers one day and not give it to Meltzer

There actually is a really good angle here. Cedric gets some wins over guys like Drew and Sami in the KOTR opener. Takes Baron to the limit. AJ sees this young punk thinking he's about to take the next step so he makes a statement to put Cedric in his place. Cedric's wins are dismissed as a fluke, but he's out to prove that he's ready for that next step and scratches and claws his way up the ladder slowly by surely. Have him get a win at the Survivor Series, maybe as the final man. At the Rumble he has a good showing, maybe lasting the longest, but gets eliminated in the end, maybe by AJ. Then at Mania, Cedric finally defeats AJ for the title proving he is on that level.

I’d like to think that Triple H and Vince having a college night like Pete and Jack did on 30 Rock. They drink heavily and then call Meltzer and make up bullshit stories.
Then Steph comes in a shotguns a whole pizza

I don't believe this at all. It's a way for fans to think they're screwing him. It was probably Heyman who told Meltzer this.

More than over before, Bryan's support had a clear goal. By the time the Yes Movement turned into blatant revolt, the sentiment was very much that Bryan deserved to be at Mania to win the title he had only ever lost through bullshit and overcome the heels in his way. It was direct and with a clear intention that people could support. It doesn't work when someone isn't over and it also isn't going to work nearly as well as just booking someone to get over through the ways that reliably get people over. This is lunacy. It's just dumb overall. Y'all was doing fine with him being a scrappy fighter in losing efforts against someone like Drew in which they had good matches and Ced showed a lot of hard. This is purely a lazy method to try to get someone over. He's in there with AJ F***ing Styles, let those two put on a banger and he will get over. People forget in the first place Ced got over with his insane match against Ibushi One of the best shots in the arm Finn ever got was an impromptu MOTN with AJ. Give them time, tell AJ "we see big things in Cedric, make him look like a million bucks out there", and let the rest happen. It's so weird that this has become a lost art.

Yea, it's like AJ would have no problem putting Ced over big. He made himself look like a major idiot against James Ellsworth This is right up his alley. Hey kid, you're not as good as me and i'm going to keep whooping your ass until you give up. Ced never gives up and eventually beats AJ to earn the rare heel respect putting him over big time. Just let them go tear it up and it will all work out

You forget that directly after that, they kept that momentum going by...having Kane utterly kill him in minutes. Because as we all know, getting acclaim or audience attachment means pretty much jack shit.

So Cedric's winning the US Title next week, then. Probably in a manner similar to the last match that Styles had in TNA. It’s still hilarious to me that the strongest TNA ever booked AJ was in his very last match.

Which is still very insulting to say to a person who is supposed to be your Ace In fairness, he did finally find his main event look but that's not what she meant at all

There might be, but it's still about the tools of wrestling and how you actually use them effectively to do the things you want to do. Like these are so fundamental and basic that even if in practice it falters a little bit, the bare theory of just how you do this kind of stuff is right there, and os much of why WWE is in such a creative rut is because they're just stopped caring about trying to tell wrestling stories anymore.

It's one of the problems of modern WWE: find something that works then apply to everyone. Or something DOES work so let's strip it down to the bare minimum.

THe hsow is just easier to write and especially to last minute rewrite if you follow an overly restrictive formula you can just generically churn out over and over
