Rewatching it now. Haven't seen it in several years though I do own it. Still fun. Interesting to view it over a decade later. It works with Snyder's style in a way a lot of his later work just doesn't. Interesting time capsule in a way.
Do have to say though, as fun as it is, and how interesting visually, it is DROWNING in cheese.

I've turned that and Sin City off twice when trying to watch.
Just can't stand the aesthetic or something. Wanted to like them.

Yeah if you don't like the visuals, there's not much reason to bother especially with Sin City.

I saw it in theaters and liked it a lot, but I haven't watched it since. Might turn it on, I dunno.
Anyone remember that they made a sequel?

Yeah she's hot as Hell there. Sequel itself is eh; not bad just fine. Though they make the visuals even more ridiculous. You're essentially watching a video game.

Say what you will about Frank Miller, in 2014 there were two movies based on his work where we saw Eva Green's boobies

Yea, I noticed it was on the other day and watched it all the through
Still holds up visually and Gerald Butler commanding the screen. Didn't know Fassbender was in there and I was like holy shit what was this one of his first movies

Same deal with Lena Headey. Was like "oh yeah she's in this."

Media portrays Spartans as the ultimate ass kickers, when more often in not in real life, they were the ones who got their asses kicked

It's sort of like how the Hollywood style of ninjas never really existed; it just makes for good stories/character shorthand.
Reminds me of a Jack Handey bit where he talked about how in the future he hoped high schools would use Americans for mascots for sports teams ala Vikings, and the Americans mascot would be a war like people.

One of the only Zack Snyder movies I actually liked, the other being Watchmen.

Whatever Snyder’s career became, this film was a blast.

300 doesn't try to be anything more than a really stylish interpretation of the Battle of Thermopylae and that's why it holds up. It's a fun watch with sick action scenes and memorable one-liners. Nothing more, nothing less.

I saw this in theaters. It’s dumb as dirt, but a fun time waster for a couple hours or so.
