So I watched the first season of Legion when it first aired and really enjoyed it, largely thanks to Aubrey Plaza's amazing performance. I wasn't as thrilled with the second season. I didn't particularly like the direction they took Plaza's character, the plot moved at a snail's pace and while the weirdness really added to the story in season one, in season two it just felt like they were being weird for the sake of being weird and it really didn't add anything (why did the robot women need mustaches?). While I thought the season two finale was amazing, I decided not to continue with the show, pulling it from my DVR and not watching season three.
That said, recently I've been reading some descriptions and reviews of season three, and also seeing that it is the final season, has had me curious to revisit it and give it a chance. That said, I don't want to waste the time, and possibly money, tracking down the season just to sit through another boring weird-fest where nothing all that interesting happens until the final episode.
So I'm just wondering if anybody else on the boards followed the show and if they can give me a head's up on the season. Was it better then season two? Is it worth tracking down?
Thanks in advance.

I watched the first two seasons. I thought it was decent enough. But I didn’t even realize the final season was airing until it was halfway over. So I just said screw it.
A lot of times, I thought the show was weird for the sake of being weird. And that Noah Hawly was just trying to show that he’s smarter than everyone else.
