All I remember of this is Joss Whedon had a major hissy fit about it and holds a grudge against Donald Sutherland to this day: Honestly, if you see the finished film and some of the BS Merrick says in th he film that really doesnt make sense like the music as he is dying, you can see that unintelligible stuff.

I thought this film had one of the best deaths ever in it. Memory is a bit spotty though. Which death was it?

All I remember of this is Joss Whedon had a major hissy fit about it and holds a grudge against Donald Sutherland to this day: To lend further credence to this, I got to meet Luke Perry at a horror convention several years ago, and asked him to autograph my DVD of the Buffy movie. He sees Donald Sutherland’s name on the cover and tells me, “If you’re ever at one of these shows and you get to meet Donald Sutherland, do me a favor and tell him that I said he’s a son of a bitch.” And by the tone of his voice, I don’t think he was saying that in jest.

I love the film. ANd Kristy Swanson was great as Buffy. I do enjoy the show but on the show I hate Buffy. Something about how SMG plays Buffy just annoys me. Yeah, I can never really hate on Kristy Swanson. She has no such restraint towards others.

Yeah, I can never really hate on Kristy Swanson. She has no such restraint towards others. Yeah, I know of her current stuff. Not a fan of that. When I say that, I mean I can't hate her as an actress

Never watched the film but loved the show. Give it a shot. As mentioned in this review, the Principal is great (that's a constant in Buffy, Joss writes entertaining principals), it's less than 90 minutes, seeing a good number of stars before they hit big is something, and it did have some really funny jokes. Well, she's doing a pretty good job of getting people to not like her these days. But not only did I see this in theaters, I had the poster. And I also think The Chase is awesome. Charlie and Kristy are great. And Anthony Keidis and Flea are hilarious. Really a star studded cast for, what...1994? Haha. Rollins was great in The chase. Rollins and his partner were the highlights of the movie. The throwaway moment when they're talking about the worst case they've been on was hilarious, just because of how dark it was and the fact it's never brought up again.

I've just started rewatching the series from the beginning, and have honestly been surprised at how well it holds up. There's some dated aspects (particularly in 'I Robot, You Jane', which is like, the best kind of kitsch getting-used-to-the-internet weirdness), but there's some really strong stories in there. The ones with the invisible girl and the witch-cheerleader, not so much, but two out of thirteen ain't bad. The Master is a fantastic character with a great look and a lovely casual air to his villainy, and some of the non-vampire episodes like Nightmares are genuinely brilliant, and a lot darker than I expected. So much of the dialogue just sparkles too, before Buffy speak became somewhat cliche.
Going to keep going through soon, and I'm interested to see how it goes. I remember not being a fan of The Initiative story arc back in the day.

I thought this film had one of the best deaths ever in it. Memory is a bit spotty though. Which death was it? Either Rutger Hauer or his second in command. It was just funny and went on for ages, almost an Austin Powers moment, imo.

I love that the movie's post-credits scene was him still milking his death for all it was worth.

The movie wasn't very good at all, but Paul Reubens was easily the highlight.

Haha no problem there. I don't think the movie is really even that bad per se, just largely really forgettable.

Yeah, I can never really hate on Kristy Swanson. Ever seen The Chase? That movie rocks, and seems to be mostly forgotten. I love that movie.

Yeah, I've heard that from several people that Donald at times is hard to work with.
