The comment was made about two years ago. It was during the commentary for this guy’s show. Apparently he was the ring announcer and the promoter. He was upset back then. He’s still upset now. It’s old news, but let the Cornette haters rage away. Cornette isn’t going anywhere. Yeah it's not like Cornette is the kind of guy to hold onto a grudge for years and years and years. Plus Cornette is the one that decide to bring attention again and double now if he had never replied like thag no one would pay attention

There is no grudge on his part. Trust me. He doesn’t care. The more people sell for his comments the more he’s going to throw them out there. It gets people talking about him. His merch is moving at a ridiculous pace. More promotions want to use him. Are you offended? Ignore him. Otherwise you’re giving him exactly what he wants.

You mean the one that its whole life didnt make money anf the developmental which people often says they learn nothing from ,got fired and oh yeh. Slapped Santino? Which I still dont know if he was in character! You do realize, OVW when it was the WWE developmental territory actually made a profit, which NXT has never done, right? And no, I wouldn’t have slapped Santino, but if a student had f***ed up my TV show (and I couldn’t go back and fix it), I’d be pretty hot, so I can understand Jim’s frustration with him. Do you jhave numbers to compare? Because keep in mind Nxt just now has the TV Deal and its expenses before were much bigger. It included bringing new technology to be used main roster,a quality level production for something that receives no paymente for its airings and brand new training top of the art equipement for developmental and main roster. It accomplished much more than Ovw ever did

Dude, he's spoken for hours and hours about how he wants to live long enough to piss on the grave of Russo for stuff that happened at least 20 years ago and Jim Herd for stuff that happened 30 years ago. You can't use the "oh it's old news" excuse when 80% of his podcast every week is him talking about why he hates someone for something they did years ago. Cornette's whole gimmick is holding onto grudges! How am i giving Cornette what he wants talking about him on a forum? I've never paid anything towards cornette, hell I don't even listen to his podcast anymore.

I was a big fan of Cornette and I used to love his podcast especially when he'd talk about wrestling history because he clearly loved it and was passionate about it. However the last 3 or 4 months in particular, I just can't defend him anymore and I can't listen to his show anymore. He's consistently saying horrible aggressive nasty things. And it's less important but it's still a reason I can't listen anymore, but his constant trashing of AEW is just annoying. In his online argument with Meltzer this week he all but admitted he'd rather AEW die than be a success doing wrestling the way he hates. He'd rather all these guys lose their jobs and WWE go back to being the only game in town just so he can gloat. I mean what a stupid selfish thing to want. Hell, I want WWE to kill AEW. I have no respect whatsoever for the Young Bucks-side or their vision or professional wrestling. How damn selfish could you be, if you hate modern wrestling so much, then don't comment on it, go and watch whatever Smokey Mountain Rasslin' tapes you want.

I swear, Charles Manson and Jim Jones would look at Jim Cornette's fanbase and go "Jesus, they're a bit extreme."
What? If Cornette can say stupid bullshit and get away with it, why can't I?

The Cornette Defense Squad's responses are so predictable you can program a twitter bot to say the same things with 99% accuracy.

But it's still a place for people to make a living and its existence is an extra bargaining chip for workers when it comes to WWE and other companies. Its presence is nothing but a good thing even if you personally hate watching every second of it. The only way AEW is hurting you is if you selfishly can't handle the idea of people liking something you don't or think that if someone doesn't entertain you specifically then they shouldn't have a job.

AEW should be more like SMW. Oh wait, they couldn't get a profitable tv deal and went out of business. I love how he criticises Tony Khan who is running a bigger and better promotion than ol Jim ever has or will.

Dude wished death or injury on a dude for not wearing a frigging bow tie. Like, how the hell is that defensible? I get that people can be too PC nowadays but there not being PC and then there's wishing harm on someone for Jack all.
Crap like what he said on social media has adverse effects on those targeted. There are so many stories of people who've killed themselves or harmed themselves for negative comments like this. This isn't a joke people, it's f***ING serious damn business that has **** all to do with wrestling or PC culture. I used to be teased and messed with all through high school and hurt myself because of it. That was before the internet was as big as it was now. I don't want to think about how I would have reacted to bullies if they could continue to attack me beyond the confines of school.

Hey, NWA keeps him employed. Fans still listen to him. *shrug* I don’t get offended by stuff. Jim Cornette and what he says doesn’t offend me. I just find the whole situation depressing, sad and weird tbh. But it is easy to ignore him. I’m not on twitter so the most I hear about guys like Cornette and Snyder are honestly here lol

Exactly, like, I haven't seen NWA Powerr, I'm sure it's perfectly fine for a throwback style wrestling show, but I'm not going to want it dead and buried just because it offers a different style to what I'm used to. The fact that people have that mindset sort of makes me understand why some wrestlers don't think too highly of fans if they say shit like this.

Yeah it's not like Cornette is the kind of guy to hold onto a grudge for years and years and years. There is no grudge on his part. Trust me. He doesn’t care. Are you offended? Ignore him. Otherwise you’re giving him exactly what he wants. Yeah, his comments are really helping him land some good gigs, that's why NWA told him to knock it off and put out a statement over his behavior. The worthwhile thing the industry wants out of Jim Cornette is absolutely him being a raving jackhat on twitter. His 'fun gimmick' hasn't cost him jobs before.

Wrestling Observer readers from 1993, 2001, 2003, and 2006 call bullshit on that. Vince was out of touch by the late 90s and he's listed as best booker for three years in a row by these readers so not sure what this proves. A knock against Jim is that “he hasn’t been relevant in decades”. “He’s 30 years behind the times”. “He’s stuck in the 70’s and 80’s.” But he won awards as either a booker or a performer during years that he, according to revisionist history, was supposedly irrelevant.

I've never paid anything towards cornette, hell I don't even listen to his podcast anymore. It’s not Cornette holding a grudge here. It’s a ring announcer / promoter from a couple years ago. Someone no one knows. Cornette doesn’t care about this guy. Cornette can create content for his shows knocking people like Russo or AEW. It’s like Vince McMahon always said “Talk good about me, talk bad about me, just talk about me.” I don’t mind making more people aware of Cornette. He’s gaining more and more fans the more his name gets around. If you don’t like that you can stop giving him attention. It’s your choice.
