I see it’s not what they intended but I didn’t watch from the start and they were showing recap and a those weird ads. Btw Melina is still gorgeous.

Wait they're not just finishing airing the Cornette episodes they already had in the can?

Wait they're not just finishing airing the Cornette episodes they already had in the can? Most obviously not. This can't be a coincidence. This/these will be the "lost" episodes. I hope they get leaked, though.

Wait they're not just finishing airing the Cornette episodes they already had in the can? Nope. They showed an Eli Drake promo he did at CWFH. They are also airing some very long Thunder Rosa in MMA vignettes. There was a Melina interview. And there was a short Empty Arena Mask VS. Shakespeare match between the Question Mark (with Aron Stevens) vs. Zane Dawson (with other Dawson). That's the episode.

I liked Melinas interview and Question Mark antics, they better not have him squash Murdoch.

I thought they'd burn through the Cornette episodes like networks play shows that have been cancelled during the summer or on Saturdays

Yeah I gotta say not just airing the last few episodes already done is really unnecessary I feel. I understand trying to distance themselves but this feels like shooting themselves in the foot needlessly.

I understand trying to distance themselves but this feels like shooting themselves in the foot needlessly. NWA was kinda in a damned if they do damned if they don't situation. If they aired the 2 episodes with Cornette people would gripe. But if they don't people will. I figured out like 5 minutes into the new episode it was gonna be lots of video packages. Which sucks cause from the spoilers I read it appears there was some good matches that should have aired tonight. But hey next week we get Colt vs StrokeDaddy Ricky Starks. Soooo happy that Starks is getting a nationwide audience now.

I understand trying to distance themselves but this feels like shooting themselves in the foot needlessly. I agree but that’s the trouble with immediately caving into social media outrage. They could’ve announced they’d continue to air the remaining episodes out of respect for their fans and for the work put in by the performers but they’ve painted themselves into a corner. Now they’ve run the risk of turning off their dedicated audience in favor of those that don’t even watch their show that were either genuinely offended by a thirty year old joke line spoken in very poor taste and those that just had it out for Cornette and wanted to force him out because they hate him for one reason or another. They’ve definitely shot themselves in the foot here.

They’ve definitely shot themselves in the foot here. NWA Powerrr is sitting at like 21,000 views right now, and sure that's going to change, but I remember it sitting at that much live viewership just at a peak on episodes I saw, and it's right now far lower than past weeks were. I imagine it'll be a few days to be absolutely sure, but I'm going to guess the numbers for this episode come in significantly lower than past episodes, and that if that's the case then I'd wager a guess that the audience watching the show did care, and that every audience correlation between it and AEW Dark actually meant something. Claiming that they caved to "those that don't even watch their show" is pre-emptively really shortsighted, and I'm going to guess it'll prove ultimately unfounded. Trying to draw tribalist lines and act like the real viewing audience is just all totally fine with it is also walking down a really flawed 'your view of moral issues is on a case-by-case basis of what promotions you like to watch' that is just absolutely not worth the data it takes up. Like, chalk me up for someone who thinks they should have just aired the rest of the episodes and that this is going to screw them. But let's not go and make up weird stuff about who thinks what.

While I agree they should have released the remaining episode,it is insulting to those that work hard to.
But also to quote a podcast I listened while trying to sleep "They knew what they were getting with Cornette and it blew up on their faces, they deserve it",so no sympathies from me in that part. But c'mon don't punish everyone else

Totally agree yet there are a lot of fans of Cornette that have already stated they’re giving up on the show so that’s going to hurt them a lot, especially since they were actually watching the show.

Really don't get why they didn't just put a disclaimer before the show saying something about the Cornette situation and just showing the episode they had in the can. It's not going to hurt the show to say it's already been filmed, just show us what you already have and give new viewers a heads up that changes have been made.

This begs another question here. Where do these announced matches for next week come from? Are they going to retape them at an affiliate promotion? Are they going to take another week to salvage them footage they have? More empty arena matches?

That would require the production team doing something, and we've all seen Lagana would rather sleep instead.

This is reminding me of TNA and the Hernandez situation in 2015, and well Corgan and Lagana were in creative back then.....
