THE FUTURE OF WWE NXT AT FULL SAIL LIVE by Mike Johnson @ 9:45 AM on 11/26/2019
Since WWE NXT won the battle for "brand supremacy" at Survivor Series over the weekend, PWInsider.com has received a slew of emails asking whether that was step one in putting the NXT brand on the road and broadcasting out of larger venues on Wednesday nights.
As of this writing, the answer to that question is no.
PWInsider.com has confirmed with multiple sources that NXT remains contractually locked into regular Wednesday night dates at Full Sail Live in Winter Park, Florida through the end of March 2020. So, if WWE was planning on pulling the trigger and taking NXT out on the road, it's not going to happen immediately.

I mean that’s not the worst thing
Even when they want to go touring I still say it should be limited in terms of touring and not a full blown schedule. Also don’t go to the same venues they do Raw and SD. Keep it intimate

I'm cool with that as I'm really enjoying NXT lately. It also gives them time to "shift eras" when March hits so we can see a completely different NXT by then. As someone who's a fan of stuff like that (timeskips in anime for example), that's dope to me.

I share the sentiment. They can keep what they have so far and prepare for the inevitable future when they do have to tour and find the right way to approach it rather than just do what Raw and Smackdown do.

I'm glad that they're still at Full Sail, I know the Full Sail fans can be a bit irritating at times, but I just can't imagine NXT anywhere else. (I know that they've done it before, but they'll always go back to Full Sail.)

I would suggest that NXT begin tweaking the production design now, so that it will look a little more polished when it does go on the road.
I agree with Cornette in that the current look for NXT is too dark. While some fans would prefer this, I would suggest that NXT's success going forward requires some expansion of audience appeal; changing up the look of the place would help tremendously.

If they make NXT a touring brand, it will be the first HUGE step toward NXT becoming a lifeless, boring, infuriating mess just like the other 2 shows. So, I fully expect they will do it in March.
Enjoy what we have for the next few months, because the days of NXT being special are coming to an end.
By this time next year, there will be a lot of posts that start with "Remember when NXT was good?" Mark my words.

Good. I like the smaller setting. Also when they do leave it shouldn't be in more than a 3500/4000 seat venue. Keep it small and more ECW like and less like WWE.

If they do tour, I hope they use the cooler small arenas like they were doing last year and the ones Roh used like the Manhattan center or that msg annex

Going on the road was always inevitable the most important thing they have to keep is that NXT is that much different from the main roster....it is IMO the biggest gripe asthetically with NXT is that it is just a scaled down WWE...with the tron and ramp.
They gotta keep seperating themselves from the main roster because that is the indentity they keep harboring about NXT...forget arenas I have said it before go the LU route find a warehouse throw a ring in there create a new visual , angle the entrance , do away with the usual giant tron and ramp , LU never had a tron hell none of the wrestlers actually ever had their music play live in the temple(except for pimmpy) and everyone came out like gods on that show.
They have more than enough time to use their resources to find unique places between now and end of march next year.

Going to similar venues that AEW books for Dynamite would probably be the best course of action when they eventually do tour. They're still decently sized, but a far cry from the NBA and NHL arenas Raw and Smackdown go to.

I like it at Full Sail, thats part of what makes it different.
If they do take it on the road, I hope they go for the Hammerstein Ballroom, ECW Arena, the Impact Zone (if it's available), and places ROH currently runs, except they would actually fill them up.
The last thing I want is for NXT to start having the same look as Raw and Smackdown.

They say March, but what they really mean is 'post-WrestleMania'. At least, I hope they do; because it makes no sense for them to make such a radical change to their formatting in the final weeks leading up to their biggest North American show of the year.
...the fact I have to make that specification due to the KSA is still baffling to me...

The last thing I want is for NXT to start having the same look as Raw and Smackdown. Honestly, that's the best approach. Keep the feel, keeps it to a smaller crowd, less worries about 3 brands in 3 big arenas and makes it different from the other wrestling on Wednesdays in that regard. Which is why I absolutely fear they're somehow planning on having them tour the exact same arenas as Raw and Smackdown as a strategy from March.
