AEW and NXT will be taking Christmas off on the 25th, while AEW returns on New Year's Day January 1st from Jacksonville Florida, NXT will not be airing an episode that day so AEW will have no competition that day.

Is NXT going to do a taped episode on Christmas? I'm hearing both are doing recap shows for it

They should probably do a taped show, of recap or something. They'll be going against the Rose Bowl and then the Sugar Bowl. January 1, people want to watch College Football, not gonna be a good ratings day against 2 big time bowl games.

My prediction - they add a stipulation next week to the Jungle Boy/Jericho match where if he lasts ten minutes, someone (Luchasaurus or Moxley or anyone really that makes sense) gets a title shot on the New Year's show.

The Rose Bowl in particular is always a big deal, but it's not a playoff year for them either (the Fiesta and Peach Bowls have the semis and they're on 12/28).

If we have a title match on 1/1, honestly, Jericho may very well lose.

So how will wwe handle this? I cant see them simply letting this slide by. A pre-recorded Nxt special on the network?

Honestly wouldn't be surprised if the holiday really doesn't even do all that much to hurt their ratings. I remember Raw on the 25th and 1st a couple of years ago doing fine - it was the 24th and 31st where it was hurting.
... Granted personally I'd quite possibly skip it to keep watching the Twilight Zone.

For me, I'd be cool with it just since it's been an open end since Double or Nothing, even if obviously Omega got the brunt of his fury.

I don’t see Jericho losing his belt on the New Year’s show. I see the concern because he has a match at Wrestle Kingdom that he is most likely losing but I don’t think AEW see it as a problem.

I am hoping that maybe the loss kinda sow the seeds of an AEW/NJPW alliance of sorts down the line. I'd definitely go for a Tanahashi as AEW champ run (with GO ACE! not no American BS version)

I kinda want Mox to go through the Inner Circle one by one until Jericho’s left. Starts off with the IC laying a big beatdown on Moxley, which prompts his big revenge spree, starting with Guevara, Proud & Powerful, then Jake Hager, before ending with taking Jericho’s AEW Title.

Given due to what happened at Today's New Japan show, Moxley and Jericho maybe heading to Japan on the 1st and not be at the show.

They have a lot of competition with the Bowl games, it's not going to be a great night. Doing a slow burn for Moxley vs Jericho is what they should do. It's a match people not only want to see, but would pay to see. Save that for a PPV. Rushing it to 1/1 feels like a desperate move. It's like the commercial they ran with a bunch of quotes saying how Dynamite was beating NXT. It's a look they don't need right now.

Jericho will not be losing the belt before the Jericruise episode. No way they dont have him being Le Champion in charge of his own cruise.
