That's actually Charles Nelson Reilly but I understand how you'd make that mistake.

I still think it's sad/hilarious she uses the character name from her ex husband.

Gene walking down the steps with his hands in his pockets playing pocket pool He always seemed so creepy talking to the younger, pretty female contestants. Kirsty Alley was on Match Game too and Gene seemed infatuated with her like he just couldn't handle it. I'm surprised Raymond Burr was on the show. It seems like he was a much bigger star than to be on this show which generally featured "bit" type actors and entertainers. I can even see why Richard Dawson probably felt he was a bigger star than the show and moved on. The show is pretty outdated now like a restaurant that's been around forever with no changes. I watch a lot of classic programming (1980s mostly) and even those stay a lot more relevant than Match Game.

I watch a lot of classic programming (1980s mostly) and even those stay a lot more relevant than Match Game. Even the 80s version of MG doesn't always hold up (the one that was paired up with Hollywood Squares). Lots of bodyshaming questions about Elizabeth Taylor, for instance. To a much less-meanspirited degree, questions about the show Mr. Smith. Seems the only thing Buzzr doesn't tolerate, however, is when they say the word "midget," which gets bleeped out of questions now. And going back to GSN reruns, some episodes were cut altogether as they had contestants/panel use words that are now inappropriate when talking about gay people.
