The whole thing seems to be centered around Jericho being able to beat him in 10 minutes or less. So even if Jungle Boy loses, if he gets pinned or taps at 10:01 it's a moral victory. Jack needs some kind of win. The guy is 0-10. I think most of us thought when AEW started Jungle Express would be a project for them. So far due to one reason or another there hasn't been as much of a focus until this past week.

I hope this match features a real, true to life Christmas miracle. I don't mean Jungle Boy winning, I mean Corpus Christi actually reacting to something. Hey now. We did boo the shit out of Ellsworth tripping Delilah Doom in a match with Carmella once. That's James Ellsworth. I'd be wondering if your city was even alive if you didn't boo him.

I don't mind that it's non-title because nobody's going to believe that Jungle Boy has a chance in winning the title, however I'm excited for this match because it could make Jungle Boy into an absolute star; he's certainly got the talent to take the ball and run with it, if given the chance.

The guy who posted that then admits he never watched the last episode so didn't know yet still wrote a condescending tweet to Cody. Some wrestling fans are exhausting. To be fair, Jericho’s promo made it sound like it was for the title (not Cody...because he can’t!) and I believe someone said it was written “Jericho must defend his title one last time in 2018” on AEW’s website or twitter or something. Either way, they made it seem like it was a title match and the storytelling didn’t really explain that it wasn’t. I love AEW, but they have to work on knocking off the Twitter storyline beats and keep them on Dynamite.

I also agree that AEW needs to start telling important storyline info on Dynamite instead of Twitter.

I love AEW, but they have to work on knocking off the Twitter storyline beats and keep them on Dynamite. Yeah, just rewatched last weeks episode. Jericho merely states that the officials at AEW says he's "contractually obligated to have one more match in 2019" and that he has the option to choose his own opponent. His lexicon of le champion was of people he wasn't going to wrestle for the rest of 2019. The only championship thing he mentions is the fact Cody can't wrestle him for the title, probably what confused everyone since the comment made no sense in the context of the promo. I think that's what led some to think it was for the title, which I totally get.

I like how they treat having a one on one match, even if non-title with the champion is a big deal.

Cody has the patience of Buddha floating on a lily pad & I’ll leave it at that. I personally would of been fine with Jungle Boy getting a title shot despite his match record. Would it have seemed bigger with the title on the line? Probably. But it leads credence to them sticking to their guns with the “Wins, losses matter”. And I still think Jungle Boy gets made in this match. It’s the possible story these two can put on in the ring that’ll matter. Meanwhile, Bully Ray would go berserk and rant endlessly about what a shitbag the person is, deservedly or not.
