SS was a month ago As I said last week at some point the credit has to be given to NXT for sustaining momentum because just because they looked good during the build doesn't mean it was going to equal success They weren't really gaining viewers on a crazy scale during the build up Viewership of NXT was going down sharpish and was around 500k before the invasion angle. They weren't getting anywhere near these numbers without NXT being heavily promoted on both Raw and Smackdown, going over the Smackdown roster in one episode, coming out on top at Survivor Series. NXT is a great show and deserves good numbers and WWE has the power to promote them to a larger audience which they did and it worked. It is what they should have done from week 1 but luckily they had SS coming around and used it wisely on top of SD getting stuck in Saudi and NXT getting a full showcase to command that episode

Good thing for NXT the drop isn't anything to worrie about but this weeks episode wasn't their most stellar...the beginning and end were great but the whole show in the middle I am surprised did not drop the rating lower.
Wont be surprised if they rise and actually hit the million viewer mark next week with two big anticipated title matches and likely throwing everything they got to close out the year should feel like a TakeOver show next week.

Yea, next week is a two match show but with massive build. They have been building up Rhea vs Shayna for three weeks and I think that is what main events and should main event imo. Cole vs Finn is truly main event worthy in itself but I expect some type of craziness for that and I would probably open the show with it

Next week should be interesting with both NXT and AEW pulling out all the stops for their final live shows of the year.

I was kind of thinking NXT would win this week due to having a bit more hype behind it while AEW was kind of presenting this week as pretty definite filler. Wonder what sunk them exactly. Didn’t AEW announce like 6-7 matches/segments ahead of time this week?

Next week, if they want to beat AEW, put the womens title on Rhea thus ending Shayna reign of terror. One of the titles needs to change hands; I just can't see both of them doing that next week. It just feels a little too much being thrown about in NXT for its size. To both shows' credit, though: between the two of them, Wednesday night has become _the_ night to watch wrestling, almost to the exclusion of Raw or Smackdown (ratings aside for now.) It'll be very interesting once NXT has to start touring full-time.

Two things drew for NXT this week, Kai/Yim and the main event. In fact there was a spike during Belair/Carter because people tuned out of Dynamite early to watch NXT's main event.
Sure with more time, someone will post the Observer figures on here that demonstrate this.

There was also apparently a apsectrum blackout for TNT Dynamite viewers for hour one. It probably effected the final numbers for AEW if they had a black hole te first hour.

From the Observer...
Rush vs. Garza started with 840,000 viewers (320,000 in 18-49)
End of Rush vs. Garza then Baszler promo lost 55,000 (lost 24,000 in 18-49)
Garza proposal then Mendoza vs. Grimes lost 26,000 (lost 7,000 in 18-49)
Banks vs. Ryker then Yim promo lost 36,000 (lost 7,000 in 18-49)
Yim vs. Kai gained 59,000 (gained 29,000 in 18-49)
Breezango vs. Singhs lost 40,000 (lost 18,000 in 18-49)
Belair vs. Carter gained 41,000 (gained 8,000 in 18-49) (Meltzer theorises it's people tuning from AEW for the main event)
Balor vs. Ciampa vs. Lee lost 27,000 (gained 15,000 in 18-49)
Overrun gained 125,000 (gained 69,000 in 18-49)

The drop in the middle makes sense as it was full of relatively unknown cats with no storylines but that's the growing pains of developing new people. Good to see the ladies still drawing well, but I am surprised that bel air vs karter did well. I assume bel air is popular despite the fact that she is currently in no angle. She should probably be next in line to fight for the womens title or get called up.

It's mentioned by Meltzer that Belair likely wasn't the draw, that's when people tuned in to get ready for the main event.

It is also weird to say because no matter the women in the ring, they usually don't lose viewers so yeah don't know why Meltz decided to single her out Also in general, the NXT women have a big 5 in Rhea, Shayna, Candice, Io, and Bianca who have been heavily featured with Nox, Yim and Kai right behind them. This womens division is deep and they draw
