Figured this was coming, the ESPN+ PPV deal tanked buy rates and eventually ESPN were gonna have to make that up somewhere

I don’t really follow ufc but I seem to be watching it on espn every once in a while UFC has never gone out of their way to disclose their PPV numbers since they are still privately owned and don't have to. Only times they did was when it was some monster number, but it's been a long long time since they've done that. Add to that the TV ratings are not very good, it's hard to believe the PPV numbers are much better. The last time the numbers would be reported, they were on the decline, like approaching the lowest ever and they've really only gone down in star power since then. At any rate, asking for $65 for a PPV is just insanity. People get on AEW for asking for $40. $65 is hilariously outrageous.

I would pay up to 70 for ONE megacard a year, and I mean stacked from top to bottom.
But the cards the UFC has put on lately haven't been worth 35, let alone 65.

65 BUCKS?! And ESPN+ members aren't getting any perks or discounts?

65 BUCKS?! And ESPN+ members aren't getting any perks or discounts? You pay $5/mo for the privilege of having the chance to buy a PPV that they show on the actual ESPN Channel a month or so later. it’s such a weird way that they do things.

65 BUCKS?! And ESPN+ members aren't getting any perks or discounts? If you buy three ppvs in a row Stephen A. Smith goes to your house and rubs your feet.

That happened a lot with boxing. A big fight would air on PPV at a huge price, then would air on HBO or Showtime a week later.

Yeah, nobody quite knows for sure, but they’ve apparently gone to absolute shit this year. Don’t quote me on this, I might be misremembering, but I believe most estimates have them doing 1/2-2/3 of what a similar card would’ve done pre-ESPN+. But, once again, those estimates are based on very little cold hard fact. Just educated speculation and very limited insider knowledge as ESPN doesn’t let much leak
