An Air Filter Replacement A Cabin Air Filter Replacement Transmission Fluid Replacement Radiator Fluid Replacement Oil Change using a Premium Synthetic
Looking for an educated guess from anyone who is savvy with cars. I actually already had the work done and feel like I overpaid. It’s a 2012 Toyota Corolla Sports edition if that makes a difference.
For the oil change I’ve been taking it to Valvoline (I know). I’d prefer a proper mechanic but at least Valvoline’s fast. Since it’s not uncommon for me to work 100+ hours a week, I have to treat the time I’m off the clock like gold. Whenever I take it to a well reviewed mechanic, they’ll say “Leave it there and I’ll look at it today.” Since I work everyday and need my car everyday I really don’t have that time to spare.

Air filter 30-65 Cabin filter 45-80 Trans service 85-300 (this one is tricky as there are a lot of options you can do with it and depends if it takes a special fluid) Coolant service 100-180 Oil change should require 0-20 oil. 45-70 depending on where you go Hope that helps. I’ma service manager at a dealership so those are about the rates in my area.

In total I paid $478.64. The break down was like this... Air Filter: $26.99 Cabin Filter: $39.99 Trans Service: $169.99 Coolant Service: $124.99 Oil Change: $94.99 That last one sticks out like a sore thumb in being higher priced than expected. I may have to consider taking it to a new place just for that since I change the oil multiple times a year. I really try to baby my car. I’ve known I pay more than most people for an oil change, but maybe I can find a convenient place for me that’s at least $25 cheaper, which will save hundreds in the long run. It’s a Corolla and you can beat the shit out of them to an extent, but I’d really like to make this one live as long as possible. I got it in 2016 and would like to have it until at least 2026.

You got kinda fleeced on that oil change. My local mechanic does it same day for like $40. Even the dealerships around here do it for like $70-75 at most.

I would talk to your local dealer. Most have prepaid Maint packages. I offer one for 90 a year. that’s3 oil changes and tire rotations. Quick lube places are always over priced
