Albano was extremely drunk. That's what happened.

Strongbow: Lou, go out there and cut yourself. Come on! Do it for Bruno! He loves it!
Only explanation.

How god-damn drunk do you have to be to cut yourself with a knife?! On the scale of wrestling intoxication where does he rank next to Juventud in Australia?

It says in the OP that Heenan was Patera's second, that can't be right, can it?

It says in the OP that Heenan was Patera's second, that can't be right, can it? Why not? He was Patera's manager at the time. Right. Before any of his McDonalds-related legal troubles, Patera had a WWF run in the early 80s, a heel managed by Bobby Heenan. In fact, that's the reason Heenan kept ragging Patera on commentary during his late 80s face run. Patera failed the first time around, but that's not Heenan's fault, it's Patera's fault for being a jailbird.

Ah, OK, I had to ask, I got confused because I was wondering why Albano was out there in the first place, and when I googled searched, the first topics all had promos with Albano cutting promos with Patera, so I thought he was his manager, not Heenan. Sorry.
So, now the next question is...why was Albano out there? Did he just wander out drunk and started gigging himself?

Why not? He was Patera's manager at the time. Right. Before any of his McDonalds-related legal troubles, Patera had a WWF run in the early 80s, a heel managed by Bobby Heenan. It was in the middle of his legal troubles, actually. Patera and Saito were working for AWA when they caused that scene and were arrested. While awaiting trial, Patera left AWA and went to the WWF (where he had previously worked in the '70s) and had his run with Heenan. He had his trial, was found guilty and went to prison afterward.

I don't know what Graham Cawthon's source for this result is but I'm pretty sure it's complete bunk.
Edit: Superfan and former tape dealer John McAdam attended almost every Boston Garden show including the one in question and I found an old post from him declaring that he had no memory of anything like this happening.

Did he do the Mario afterwards? So those shows our on Netflix and I've watched some solely to see if they made any attempts other than him wearing a hat to cover up Albano's massive gig scars.

Did he do the Mario afterwards? I guess this is when Lou finally found out that if you do drugs you go to hell before you die.

Albano was extremely drunk. That's what happened. Probably. For a bad Albano drunk match here's him and Snuka www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYblZDux17MAt 6:08 He just blatantly pulls a blade out and rubs his head.

It's possible, but that story was around before Graham started his site. Regarding the McAdam post you found elsewhere, I imagine you'll find a post from me in that same thread linking to yet another (now dead) thread that explained it better. I truly wish I could remember the details, but it's been too many years.
