What is your favorite and least favorite type of cages that have been used? For me the worst is the one used at Halloween havoc 97 the thing just looked sloppy. My favorite is the original war games cage

Worst: Bright red cages that are really awkward to see through. This refers to both the recent HIAC as well as the infamous TNA impossible-to-climb-out-of chamber thing.

I know people complain about it but I loved the old blue metal cage WWF used from the mid-80s to the late 90s. Getting rammed head first into it looks far more impressive than getting rammed head first into some mesh.

Also, I really dislike the obviously visible footholds in the Cell WWE uses. I obviously know why it has them but looking at it kayfabe wise, why does it have them?

WCW’s Thunderdome is a favorite of mine. If only they could have made the “electricity” more dramatic with some sparks or something.

Naw, actual footholds. Think they were added for Cactus v. Triple H. Pig was talking from a kayfabe explanation. the holes are there so the camera can get a shot without the mesh in the way.

Those cheap chicken wire cages from the 60's, and 70's have to be the worst.

The red cage WWE used for HIAC this year was atrocious.

Add to that the more recent step platforms (dunno what else to call them) on the outside of the Hell in a Cell. Literally the only purpose for those things is for the guys who are supposed to be kept inside the ring to stand on while outside the ring. See Ambrose/Rollins HIAC match from 2014.

The black cage from Valentines Day Massacre. Same as the old blue one but looks cooler.

I don't mind mesh cages, but prefer it used for when you're not "supposed" to climb out. The bar cage is better for climbing, even if it's probably considerably more dangerous to be slammed into. The door spot from Triple H versus Mankind in the cage, where Chyna slams the door on Foley due to being way too reckless in typical Chyna fashion is hard to watch.
