So while I was doing some deep cleaning of my apartment a few days ago, I had my DVDs of MST3K Shorts playing, and I almost forgot how much fun they could have with them (sometimes even more fun than the films...also, it's something if modern MST3K were to continue I wish they would do some more of).
So, what are some of your favorites from the show, and even when Rifftrax does theirs?
Some off the top of my head (don't know enough Rifftrax ones to put any here) -Johnny at the Fair: when it starts with Joel not wanting to get too dark for a short, you know it's gonna go there and they have a ball with it. -Alphabet Antics: I still quote the line about cheese, and "N is for Float" never fails to make me laugh for some reason -Mr. B Natural: One of two shorts on this list with demonic beings in it...favorite line "You've gotta inspect your horn, boy!""And wash it every day!" -Junior Rodeo Daredevils: "And the crowd goes wild!" "yaaay." -Hired (both parts): Not just for the riffs, but how strange the idea of door-to-door car salesmen are nowadays -Last Clear Chance and The Days of Our Years: "Union Pacific makes the best films!" -Robot Rumpus: Can't go wrong with them mocking Gumby. -A Case of Spring Fever: The other demonic being. Bend to Coily's will!

I always loved A Young Man's Fancy. Even when it was made, it was probably super dorky, but it comes off as seriously bizarre now. The riffs do a great job of poking at the sexuality buried under the surface but without going too far.

Cheating, because of how unnecessarily dark and serious it is.

"Shake Hands With Danger" - I still think about poor Chuck Hamlin's body sitting out in the open air of that pit to this day.
And The Hormel Plant one... can't remember the title off my head cause I have poor memory. But it the riffs make me laugh and it still makes me hungry despite some of the imagery (THE TAIL! NOOO! ANYTHING BUT THE TAIL!)

The few that jump immediately to mind:
The Chicken of Tomorrow - the slicing of the chicken is an all time laugh out loud moment for me.
Design for Dreaming - Michael Crawford and Holly Go Weirdly buy a car. All I got. Seriously hysterical.
But they all stand in awe of my all time favorite...
Progress Island USA - AN AMERICAN DEMOCRACY! “... would be really great right now.” From that riff, we are off to the races. It is the standard all others are judges by. Classic.
