I was watching one hell of a wild brawl from a MLW show that aired about a year ago between L.A Park (the original La Parka from WCW in the 1990s) and Pentagon Jr (I just call him that, even though I know he hasn't gone by that for ages.) and Pentagon ripped at the mask of L.A Park and it showed that Park had these black smudges around his eyes, like face-paint kinda.
What's up with that? Is it just an asthetic thing to look even cooler, because it seems weird to apply face-paint when you're wearing a mask that covers your entire face. I don't know if all masked wrestlers do it, but I'm sure more masked wrestlers than L.A Park must do it?

To reduce glare from those bright arena lights.

I thought it was just for style purposes.
Most of the live action Batmen do the same.

Both the above mentioned reasons are pretty much right.
