The Arcade 1up cabinets seem good for two purposes:
1. Showing kids what these games were like and helping them develop an appreciation for the classics.
2. Arcade fans who want a relatively affordable nostalgia trip for specific games "that just work" without the time, effort, and expense needed to build your own arcade cabinet and the questionable legality involved in getting the library filled up via MAME or other arcade emulators.

Pretty much. I've always wanted to own an Arcade game, but it's just not really cost feasible. This is pretty close to that experience for a couple hundred bucks.
I'd love to own a pinball machine too, but those are even more ridiculous price wise. Saw a few for like 10 k. I paid less for my truck.

The TMNT one is very nice. Got it for my lady and she is getting it on Valentine's Day. Got lucky found one in a really beat up box at a closeout store for about half what they normally sell for.
Would love to find her the TMNT stool that goes with it.

I’d get one but honestly don’t have any room in my studio apartment for it. My local Walmart has the Ninja Turtles one on display that I’ve played a few times and would totally be interested in getting it if I had more room.

I’m sold the minute they by some miracle announce a WWF Wrestlefest/Superstars/WrestleMania: The Arcade Game set.
Otherwise, i’ve been toying with the idea of modding a SF unit if I think I can handle it, but that’s a project for down the road.

I definitely would love to see a Wrestlefest/Superstars cabinet being sold. Only thing that prevents me from purchasing the Arcade1up is the price. Although when I go to Walmart after closing for the night at work, I would be in the electronics section playing the Arcade1up that had Street Fighter games, Mortal Kombat, and recently the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle games. The second I see the cabinet with Final Fight uploaded I will be there all night again playing the game.

Those of you hesitating because you "don't have space," bear in mind the cab size is actually fairly small, 45.8” H x 23” D x 19” W on average. I have end tables that take up more floor space than my cab.
I'm on vacation away from home at the moment but I will get a few pictures to show scale when I get the chance.
As for the cost prevention, Walmart frequently tosses these cabs into clearance for whatever reason. I've seen some go as low as $100, and combined with the replacement control panel and button sets, you'd still spend less than $200 to have a cost-effective 3/4 cab with a little work.

ALso check closeout stores like Dirt Cheap and Hudsons. The local Dirt Cheap got in 15 Arcade1ups back in November. ANd they were fairly cheap, usually 220.

If I do get one I want something unique like the Star Wars with the flight controller or the track ball of Centipede one. And maybe the table one as that's also unique compared to a stand up arcade game.

Just an FYI, there are leaks out there saying Arcade1Up is announcing a vPinball cabinet at CES, but the videos were pulled before I could get details. Looks like the Star Wars pinball will be the first, but didn't get price points for it yet. Needless to say, jumping on that for sure when I get more details!

Just finished a play through on Final Fight earlier and set the high score.
Admittedly that's not hard when you own the machine.
Still, the initials KEV are enshrined in it much like GLC for Frogger.

While I'm not 100% on how the A1U table will perform, I do know they're using solenoids and accelerometers for haptic feedback and real tilt/sensor functionality that many of the better tables I've played with works. Can't wait to get that and mod that sucker for with my giant collection!

So I bit and got the NBA Jam one. The Big Buck Hunter one intrigues me for the lightgun potential.

The Big Buck one caught my attention at first, but then I thought about how Big Buck was never about the arcade experience for me, it was about drinking with buddies and trying to out do each other and I could just grab a plug and play TV one for that.

Idk how good those are and especially if they have a good light gun that works like the old ones I’m sure they’d be good enough for me and my drunk buddies, if I were to get a 1up it would definitely be a different one. TMNT or NBA Jam would be high on the list, so would Street Fighter or MK.
