Got my Arcade1up that has Mortal Kombat 1, 2 and Ultimate and so far, Iam loving every minute of it. Very easy to assemble to.
10 year old me would never belive that one day I'd have and arcade machine that has MK1 2 and Ultimate 3 all in one. What a time to be alive
Saw one that had the arcade ninja turtles game. Damn better start saving!

Why not just buy or build a MAME cabinet that could play pretty much any game you want?

By sheer coincidence, I picked up one yesterday. Had been wanting one a while&local Wal-Mart had the Final Fight one on sale for $200 so I snagged it.

Why not just buy or build a MAME cabinet that could play pretty much any game you want? Seems like that takes more time, space, money and effort.

My best friend owns an actual Final Fight cabinet. It’s about the best goddamn thing ever, he’s had it since 2003 and I have spent so much time on that thing

That's really cool; this one has 1944, Ghosts and Goblins and Strider so I'm digging it.
And yeah, the benefit of these is you're getting a cabinet that's a fraction of the cost of the real deal and is really easy to put together. Literally the only tool join use is a Phillips screwdriver.

Why not just buy or build a MAME cabinet that could play pretty much any game you want? Best of both worlds, I have a Marvel Super Heroes cabinet that I'm in the middle of nodding to do just that (installed an LCD Controller, PC, and USB encoders for the buttons, just need to add a 'coin' and 'hotkey' button and it's done). Cost of doing it is pretty much the same when you factor in the cost of the vinyl graphics the cab uses. I plan on building a vPinball machine next to it so I've that as well).

I don't know if I'd buy one due to the price and, well, not having space for an arcade cabinet, but I did try one at Walmart and the screen looks pretty damn good.
I kind of wonder how easy it'd be to buy one, stick a Raspberry Pi in, and play whatever on it.

I'll be the one to complain, "But they had to redo the TMNT theme song for the first game's opening!"

Every Arcade 1UP I've seen on display that's playable has always had a busted button or two, so I've been very skeptical in buying one.

The buttons are actually easily replaceable, they're screw-top cheapo in the store, but you can buy a full commercial-grade set for cheap as long as you match the board requirements (typically it's just two wires connected to a harness). Even if I didn't mod mine, I feel any basic electrical knowledge gives you enough info to quickly and affordably replace any part in the system as needed.

Seimitsu seems to be most people's preferred stick/button manufacturer, these days.

I've had my Rampage and Pac-Man cabs for a year and I still love them. Definitely wanna look into modding a few at some point though.

I played the TMNT one when out shopping in December. If I had room, I would've bought one right there. I thought it was really cool.
