Any of that old soul stuff is really fun. "Ain't Too Proud To Beg" is relatively easy, and it's fun to play.

Ska bass lines are a ton of fun too. I'd recomend Dear Sergio by Catch 22, New Girl by The Suicide Machines, The Big Sleep by Streetlight Manifesto, and Gang Control by Leftover Crack. That should keep you busy for a little while.

I don't play bass (or any instrument, for that matter) but I'd guess anything by Primus.

(Anaesthesia) Pulling Teeth Took me six months to play it (not since I started playing bass, but since I started attempting the song), and I can still only get up to the part when the drums come in. I still have no idea what he does after that. If you're a Tool fan, try 46 & 2, Flood, and the Pot. "My Friend of Misery" by Metallica is a really fun one. I can write any of these out for you, if you want. Just PM me.

The best thing to do is to look at it as patterns instead of as seperate notes. it's alot less intimidating that way. The majoirty of the song is just alternating between major and minor triads, with a root 5th octave pattern thrown in. And if you're into slap, aeroplane by the Red Hot Chili Peppers is alot of fun

I play bass. I'll freely admit to being a Dee Dee Ramone/Jerry Only knockoff, if that tells you how I play. So I don't play too much in the way of complicated bass lines.
"Journey to the End of the East Bay" by Rancid is a lot of fun. I point to Matt Freeman as proof that punk rock sometimes does take talent.
As for the Misfits, my favorite bassline is for the song "Come Back", which isn't one of their most known songs. It appeared on what was recorded as their first album, but was not released until the '90s. After that recording, Glenn Danzig supposedly told Jerry to keep things more simple. (Not that his work on that album is mind numbing or anything, it was just more than straight forward punk bass)
I had fun with "Other Side" by the Chili Peppers. Haven't played it in a while.
"Waiting Room" by Fugazi is alright.
