Rise in number after a fall over last few weeks so they would hope to build on that
Things should start to be back to "normal" after this week with Worlds Collide done and building to Takeover in Portland and then obviously Takeover in Tampa in April

After weeks of steady fallings in ratings a nice rise is good news for them.
Like other captain just said now that all the filler is coming to an end over the next week things should normalize by getting the show back on track to focusing on the build to Portland and then Tampa Takeovers.

AEW being taped helped, they didn't lose much but it seems like the viewers who didnt watch AEW watched NXT live due to reading results and maybe watching it afterwards. Still will be interesting to see if they build on it

Given the big news going on recently, that's a good number for both shows.

Man if Tom Selleck can beat Smackdown, why can't the Party of Five Reboot dethrone NXT and AEW?

There wasn't an issue of the Observer last week because Dave Meltzer was on the Jericho Cruise, but he mentioned on the F4W Board that the highest rated segment on NXT last week and with 18-49 viewers was Io Shirai vs. Toni Storm.

Not a surprise at all....Io is THAT woman just about every single time she has been on the show since they went live has always had a rise in viewership when it comes to her matches and segments. I know they wanna keep trucking along with Rhea but WWE best gawd damn realize when Io comes back what they have in her and stop gawd damn waiting to put her immediately into the title picture and put the title on her.

Dave also mentioned that there was a noticeable swing to AEW for the main event (Moxley/Pac vs. Lee/Strong) and that the overrun got a bigger bump than usual which suggests that the viewers wanted to see the finish of AEW and knew they wouldn't miss out on the NXT finish. I get why they do the overrun, but it really does train your viewers to think that the finishing sequence won't come until after 10 PM. Obviously there are reasons to tune in as the matches are usually great, but you don't need to check in until after AEW to see the important stuff.

NXT is leading into the real main event this week, Miz & Mrs. Fans will turn off AEW because they won't want to miss a second of George Mizanin's Baby Boy, AEW to crash and burn, TNT will rescind their deal, Tony Khan will lose all his money and his inheritance. Shad Khan will divorce his wife and marry Marjo and we'll get Billionaire Heiress Maryse.

Again, it seems hopeful for NXT's numbers that they're getting AEW's scraps, but I think it would be better for NXT's profile overall to tweak its booking somewhat.
I'm not getting any particular direction for anyone on the roster at this point - that could be the bottleneck that NXT is facing these days now that "callups" are unlikely for most of them (being the supposed "third brand"). While most of the women would be worthy of a spot on either of the main rosters, they're also, by far, the strongest aspect of NXT's appeal and are indispensable to its success right now. Alas, for most of the men's roster in NXT, the main roster has either nothing for them or, worse, would make jobbers of them all, with very few exceptions. Right now, Keith Lee could survive a call-up, but I'm not sure who else.
