Was it really that unprofessional or was it just Shawn doing his best to get an entertaining match out of an old decrepid hogan who could barely move let alone bump at that point?
If it was Dolph Ziggler in 2011 people would have been jizzing their pants over it and calling it the greatest sell job of all time.

When Shawn took the big boot, went down, then stood up and ran in a circle before exaggeratedly flopping down again, it was pretty clear he was not just trying to make Hogan look legit.

Ok you got me there, I forgot about that bit, but I wouldnât say he was dicking about the entire match.

For one night only he turned back into 1996 era bitch-boy Shawn and it was glorious. If he did it to someone else I'd have probably minded more; Hogan's always been an even bigger bitch-boy than Shawn and by all accounts still is though, so f*** him.

I always laugh at people saying Hogan got what he deserved when the guy who oversold was Shawn Michaels. One guy is often praised by his coworkers (not all but most) while the other was universally considered the biggest dick in wrestling (Shawn).

It's that 'sometimes dicks f*** assholes' speech from Team America, but a wrestling match.

Yes, but not for any "f*** Hogan" reasons.
It's a cocky pretty boy jerk who's been talking crap for months finally being face to face with Captain America. He SHOULD be flying around the ring like he's about to die.
Also the idea of SHAWN MICHAELS taking the moral high ground against Hulk Hogan is so goddamn funny.

Absolutely. Itâs one of my favorite things to show non-wrestling fans, itâs f***ing hilarious.

Entertaining as shit but letâs not act like it wasnât completely unprofessional on his part.
He went into business for himself.
Apparently the plan was for HBK to get his win back... after this, Iâm not surprised Hogan wouldnât go for it.

The story changed his mind before that which is what led to Shawn overselling in the first place. the idea was there were two/three matches, Shawn winning the first by cheating and then Hogan winning the rematch.

If I'm being the mature adult here, yeah, it was unprofessional.
But it was still f***ing hilarious, all considered.

Hogan probably thought it was great while they were in the ring until someone told him that Shawn wasnât taking him too seriously. Considering the two weâre talking about here, it doesnât bother me at all.

Yes it was hilarious. That whole heel run, from the infamous Montreal promo to the fake Larry King skits to the overselling, was Shawn at his funniest.

Yeh it was Hogan being his carny himself, for some reason not wanting to lose to Shawn at that point of his career.Because Hogan man. I also don't know how anyone can think that wasnt on purpose, his selling had more flips than a Private Party match.

Two guys who set the bar for unprofessionalism, being unprofessional. I'm not for it or against it, because I wasn't interested in it then or now. But I was also totally unsurprised.

I mean, it's the only thing that made me even kind of interested in watching the match. I didn't see it until well after the fact because the matchup on paper didn't interest me at all, while that gave it a certain curiosity factor. And it certainly makes the match a whole hell of a lot more watchable than a 2005 Hulk Hogan match would've been otherwise.
