We've already established how Michaels wouldn't be a match for the Hulkster in backstage politics. But how much would Hogan be annoyed by him, and how much would he attack his career? Would hogan simply just keep him away from the world title, or would he send Michaels down the ladder to wrestle guys like Booker T or Raven? I'm just thinking how much of a nuisance would he be to Hogan. What level? I believe he'd be more of a nuisance to Bischoff, and would be a complete headache for the folks at Turner/Time Warner.

If Shawn went to WCW in 1997 he'd be dead by 1999.

He could of dressed as a knock off of Vega from street fighter and had a feud with Glacier. We could have had the great Streetfighter/Mortal Kombat dream match everyone was fantasizing about in the 90s.

Shawn couldn't beat old, way past his prime Hogan at politics in 2003, he would have been eaten alive by Hogan in 97. That's my take on it. Mid-to-late-90s Shawn, even at his political zenith, would run into a brick wall with 97 Hogan. Bret likely would have lost the title to Austin at WMXIV, then either stay heel or go back to a face fighting off Neidhart, Owen, and Bulldog, maybe even allying himself with some other faces. As for the product, it probably would have gotten more hard-hitting, but less hyper-sexual. I could even see Bret as Vince's handpicked corporate champion, plus you have built-in history with Bret and Austin, so it's win-win. Bret as corporate champion? I uh....possibly? I guess it would make more sense when Rock joined the corporate also, I think they would have worked well together.

In the previous 12 months, Michaels had been involved in the Curtain Call and berated Vader live on a major PPV for blowing a spot. Eight years later, older and sober, he dealt with Hogan's political power by flopping around like a fish.
Pilled-up HBK in WCW in 1997 would have acted out against Hogan and Bischoff by breaking kayfabe on TV until he got suspended.

He'd get his ass kicked a lot. The Steiners, Meng, Scott Norton, Finlay, the list goes on.
