I always thought that in Kayfabe Santina is actually Santinos sister. I don’t think WWE means any harm by it. It’s not “Eww look at this guy dressed as a woman”. It’s supposed to be funny. Now you can certainly argue whether or not it is, but I don’t think they’re trying to imply any actual trans storyline with it

It was a call back to how far the women's division has come. "Oh not this shit again... you're right If that was the case then wouldn’t it have made more sense for Beth to lift Santina over her head and throw her out the ring shaking her head or something, instead of that weird cobra bit? Or you could say he was scared of the women, and eliminated himself.

I’m only offended by how stupid it was. That was never funny. Let another actual woman wrestler get some spotlight over that dumb joke

If they were going to do a comedy spot to break shit up it should have been near the middle, not towards the end. Its shouldn't have been done at all as it just regressed us back to 2009 when the Women were a joke and nobody bought it at all, it flopped big time.

A man dressing up as a woman, even for comedy purposes isn't transphobic. That would imply every drag queen ever was transphobic. There’s nothing inherently transphobic about the art of drag, but a character like Santina only reinforces the myth that trans women are just deceitful cis men in disguise, which is definitely transphobic.

Grotesque, the women did not need this at all.

Going for the nostalgia pop with something that wasn't even a good idea first time around... A+ work, WWE.

I feel like the worst part was that he actually got in.
In my opinion there is a fine line between being insulting. Like are we supposed to laugh at Vito wearing a dress?Yeh that is just phobic.
The "funny" part of Santino is how absolutely ridiculous and unconvincing he looks in that very feminine outfit that does not fit him at all and Beth Phoenix reaction.
If I ahd to use him I would have him trying to enter just to be laid out by Beth Phoenix who enters instead. Also, that none of the girls eliminated Santina is a crime, the whole point is that he doesn't belong there and he doesn't even get a comeuppance?

I assumed the callback was to underline how far the women in the WWE have come since Santina was a thing. He eliminated himself after seeing Beth and Natalya surrounding him, he pulled out the padding from his bra and realised that the act was a mistake.
I'd have rather that this gag happened earlier in the Rumble, and involved the whole roster throwing him out of the ring, but hey ho.

The world is super sensitive and there is no need. Nobody thinks "omg he's so gay" when they see Santina. If anyone was paying attention he was a onscreen womaniser and after his infamous elimination in the mens match his character probaby thinks he's got a better chance in the womens Rumble. Makes sense to me.

I wanted to post this here from my other post: For the record, I thought the Women's Rumble was a great example of a "Good" Rumble. Healthy mix of talent from new, current and legends. Solid booking that made a lot of people look good. I thought the Santina spot did the opposite of what a lot of the complaints are saying. I thought it was the WWE acknowledging their past shit and putting it to bed with Santina choosing to COBRA herself when faced with the new reality. I'm not saying anybody's wrong for feeling how they feel. It's just how I saw it.I'm perfectly willing to be wrong. Educate me if I am.

I don’t think Santino can bump anymore, so that’s part of the reason there was no contact. If you want to pick on Santina getting a spot, not being able to bump would be a good starting point.

Lets not get ahead of ourselves here... it wasn't transphobic. That's a massive stretch. It was a call back to how far the women's division has come. "Oh not this shit again... you're right. We are better than this now." That was the message I think. A man dressing up as a woman, even for comedy purposes isn't transphobic. That would imply every drag queen ever was transphobic. And even non drag queens, like Milton Berle and my favorites Klinger on MASH and Flip Wilson’s Geraldine Jones. Not to mention the movie/play Hairspray. Rocky Horror any one? Or maybe Victor/Victoria

Yeah it would KIND OF work if they did a thing where Santina was at the top of the ramp and got destroyed by Nia Jax returning or Shayna if they had to do it. But do it WAY earlier than 29.
