Is Randy considered one of the safest workers? Plus he and Edge are friends. My guess is Edge wants to return in his mind to the safest match he can. Then move on to others after getting the jitters/ring rust off against Orton. Bingo

Yeah I would love to see
Styles vs Edge.
Rollins vs. Edge (Play up the time Seth was going to break Edges neck)
But Orton? Their matches weren’t that great 14 years ago.
It’s like signing Sting or Lesnar returns only to face them face the Big Show...

Is this also Edge's last match at Mania? Reports were he signed a three year deal. That doesn't sound like he's coming back for a swan song run.

That sounds like the suckiest wrestlemania ever.

There's no excuse for Shayna not to have won, especially in the final two. People wanted it and Shayna v Becky is one of the few things that might make me interested in Mania. The dull as **ck SS match says otherwise Charlotte was eventually gonna win a Rumble, imo better her then Shayna. With Charlotte and the way they book her anyway they can shoehorn into someone thing with the Smackdown or NXT Champ to avoid Becky

I don't think it's fair to blame Shayna for the SS match. Becky isn't exactly an amazing wrestler, so the fault lies with her as well.
Anyway, yeah, this card sounds awful.

Not like WWE would not pull it out of its ass but is the rumble winner even allowed to challenge for any NXT title in the first place? because I do not remember them stating anything of the sort so that whole Charlotte to NXT likely isn't even plausable within kayfabe.

Doesn’t sound like a promising Wrestlemania this year. Edge back is cool but the two title matches don’t make me want to watch it.

Cole didn’t say it outright but there was a point he said that NXT people could ask for a title shot on any brand so I took it that, if that were the case, the same could go for Raw and Smackdown talent.

I like that original idea, haven't read the latest two pages yet.
Bro Lesnar vs. The Rock McIntyre Big Dog vs. Ghost ...whatever the third was, Buddy Murphy.
LET'S GET BUSY.
e: If they're not gonna pull the trigger in Alexa the Iron Champion, might as well make a 4-Way in WaffleMania. Flair included.
e: I would be much more interested in Rated RKO vs. USO's (not The Revival, though) than a single match. He looked pretty old.

Look at the intrigue!!!”

I'm ok with it I guess. Sure, I wish Edge could face someone else but Orton's a safe opponent for him for his first big single's match back, I'm down with that.

The wording is essentially that the winner can ask for a championship opportunity of their choice, so theoretically the winner could request a shot at the 24/7 title if they wanted to. I would assume that means the NXT champions are fair game.

I think expectations for Edge/Orton are raised after that great segment.
Also, Meltzer is reporting Charlotte/Rhea Ripley as the current plan, which sounds like a smart way to elevate NXT as a third brand.

That's odd as Monday's F4W daily update said Becky/Shayna is going to happen but didn't confirm anything for Charlotte except that her vs. Bayley isn't the current plan.
