anyway I think this thread has gotten wayyyyyyyyy off track (which is my fault initially) But I do hope Millen being the idiot that he is goes after Green, and allows Quinn to be snatched up by Miami. The only thing the Dolphins will have to worry about then is the Cleveland Browns

Chris Chandler, Jay Fiedler... One of my friends went to the same HS as Jay Fiedler (not at the same time mind you). He said one time when he was a junior or senior (so like 4-5 years ago), they had their gym class rained out so they had a "Jay Fiedler" day where they saw video of all his "great moments"

Rodney Peete > Ryan Leaf.
Not sure that proves anything but I think it's pretty funny it ended up that way.

Like I said, this thread has gotten wayyyyy off track. I just thought I'd mention that there really haven't been any black QB's that have 'wowed' me (I'm more of an old school guy who grew up during the years of Marino, Elway, and Kelly so that probably has a lot of bearing why I feel the way I do.) and I inadvertedly opened up pandoras box in the process. Then the thread morphs into something completely awful when we're talking about Jay freaking Fiedler.... yikes! I've created a monster here

If Detroit could get Green to renegotiate his deal (and I mean a huge renegotiation) it wouldn't be a bad deal. They could bring him in to mentor a younger QB (Quinn or maybe Drew Stanton in the later rounds) and cut him later when the young guy is ready.

As a Lions fan, this would be horrible. I've seen every game Drew Stanton started in college and several of Brady Quinn's. Neither one performs in big games (with the exception of Quinn's lone win over Michigan and Stanton's 1/2 game at U-M in 2004). What the Lions need to do, is fill in several more holes before getting a new QB. They went the franchise QB route with Joey Harrington and it didn't work. Considering they went 3-13 last year, there's too many holes all over the place to just keep the #2 pick and hope for the best with any of the QBs in this year's draft. They need to trade down.

Yeah, I am not saying that they should do that, just knowing Millen's history and looking at the draft that sounds really plausible (unless the Raiders pass on Calvin Johnson, then God knows what'll happen).

The funny thing: Calvin Johnson would actually be a good fit and would be a great pickup, but no way in hell could anyone allow it to happen based on principal alone.
