Barrios and Wilson were essentially in charge of the "business" end of WWE, weren't they? Huge news. Yeah, I remember hearing that they were going to be the business side of things while Hunter and Stephanie took every thing else. Barrios usually took over the business calls lately ls well How I remember it is a bit more adversarial; as it's understood now, Steph would likely take on Vince's business matters and Trips would run the show. Barrios and Wilson were more directly looking for that top power position and hoping to use their successes with TV deals and the Network to make that case. Who knows if that's necessarily what's going to happen here, it may be much more immediate a factor unless Vince is announcing he's stepping down in a month.

That's a pretty catastrophic plummet, especially when they were over $100 just nine months ago.

There must be something fishy in the air, aside from probably terrible Q4 results. You don't fire your two most important EVP just for bad financial results. Reading the press release, it seems like Barrios and Wilson had very different views against VKM on how business should be run. And we all know if you're not a 100% butt kissing sycophant like Dunn and Pritchard, Vince has no use for you.

Yeah, they got fancy new titles in 2018. They were still integral to the company's business before that. Here is the relevant portion of Barrios' blurb from the WWE Corporate site before today: And here is Wilson's: They weren't exactly nobodies before they were given the "Co-President" titles.

In Barrios' case, the co-president and seat on the Board of Directors was essentially a formality. He was CFO for a lot longer than that and that's one of the most important positions in corporate infrastructure.

XFL games are going to be played with Nerf Footballs. Which would actually get me to watch it.

For what it's worth this quarter is the first one the new TV deals will show up on so this could be really bad if this is a losing quarter.

That's a pretty catastrophic plummet, especially when they were over $100 just nine months ago. Well firing your two co-presidents would do that. As for stocks falling over the past year, a lot of that could be attributed to creative getting much much worse over the past 9 months. RAW seems to slowly be rebounding, but Smackdown is still in a downward spiral. And as a result, people are tuning out in record numbers.

Can't say that I heard of them, but reading the info tells me that this is a huge deal.

I actually don’t put some of the stocks to that because, well, as long as you’re producing money, it doesn’t really matter about the product’s quality because of it still producing money. Now the probable low sales/Bad PR of WWE2K20, the XFL lawsuit and the ratings dropping in quite rapid fashion the past 12 months despite billion dollar TV deals on the other hand...

Is it possible all the bad decisions are finally starting to catch up to them?

Vince isn't the kind of person to ever admit that he's lost control of the ship, but he's lost control of the ship.

Is it possible all the bad decisions are finally starting to catch up to them? Well their present success kind of hinges of the failings of the TV industry as a whole. But they also just don't have the cultural impact they used to, which seemed to be what led to their previous stock fall late last year following their underwhelming Fox debut being seen as their most likely peak performance. So despite being seen as a DVR proof program with a loyal base, how much does it really matter when they're consistently losing fans in droves relatively faster than other programs.

He looks so familiar, has he ever made a cameo in WWE's programming?

Their present success is mostly propped up on the Saudi deal and an inflated TV deal. Without that cash running everything, they gotta be bleeding cash.

...alright, from an economics standpoint, there has to be a logical reason why Vince would up and fire two executives today, and methinks it involves their 2019 Q4 earnings report.
