Dude, I almost cried watching that. I don't want to go all "IT'S STILL REAL TO ME DAMNIT!" but man, that was painful to watch. But it was great TV. This is why I fell in love with wrestling. Same here. When Brandi came out, the look between them, and Cody reaching out for her had me tearing up. I didn't know how I'd react to this whole thing, I thought that going with the lashes would have worked better as a stipulation after their match, but they played this out perfectly. The best was that MJF was getting pissed that he couldn't get Cody to quit, this was his easiest Get Out Of Jail Free card, and now he's going to have to put even more work in to try to get Cody to sock him, or have Wardlow injure him in the cage badly. It wasn't about fun for MJF, it was about getting out of this, because he's scared now. TK, Cody, everyone who put together this week's show... They hit it out of the park.

I’m ready for the PPV already after tonight. That last segment was top-notch.

The guitar riff from Joey Janela's theme sounds really close to a classic rock riff from the 70's or 80's. Does anyone know which song it is? It's been driving me nuts.

I have a problem with the Cody/MJF feud and I've been trying to figure out what it is. But here goes: Why is Cody doing all of this? To face MJF in a wrestling match? A guy we all know he can beat decisively since MJF has never been established as a serious threat in the ring? MJF doesn't really have anything Cody needs, whereas Cody has main event cred he can give to MJF with a PPV match. By all rights when MJF tried to duck him Cody should have simply said "Okay, so you aren't booked at all on the next PPV. Enjoy being a nobody." Then Cody kick MJF in the nuts and walks away. Regardless of how they are playing this (and they are doing it well) MJF has no power to dictate anything but the storyline acts like he does for the sake of doing it. I mean why did he turn on Cody in the first place if he did NOT want a huge PPV pay day and a main event level match with Cody?
I probably would have preferred the 10 lashes stipulation as a post match deal, since only an idiot would agree to do this just to get a match with someone. That way Wardlow could screw Cody at the PPV, MJF gets to gloat, and then do the 10 lashes on TV the next week.

So is Kong still in the Nightmare collective? I'm listening to Solomonster's recap and he was saying Kong was kicked out. Which sounded weird since I didn't see it in the wrestling observer recap. But with Kong out for a while it'd make sense to stop this crappy NC stuff.

That would just make Cody look like a heel, though, abusing his authority to deal with MJF.

But with Kong out for a while it'd make sense to stop this crappy NC stuff. On Dynamite, Mel and Luther attacked her, with the trainer claiming she had a ruptured disc. Seemingly writing her out for Glow filming. Guessing it doesn't necessarily mean Nightmare Collective are outright done entirely, but guessing it's at least on the back burner.

Is that cage a Wardlow cage? It wouldn't have passed inspection otherwise.

That way Wardlow could screw Cody at the PPV, MJF gets to gloat, and then do the 10 lashes on TV the next week. It's intensely personal as a feud, regardless of whether or not he can win. He wasn't only betrayed, but lost his chance at ever getting the world title because of someone he thought was a friend, and he wants to get his hands on him for that revenge, but with Wardlow around, it's much less likely he'll ever get the opportunity. And if we're saying that personal, intense rivalries can't be settled through wrestling matches, we'd have to throw out a lot of wrestling history and also rethink the entire format.
