ROH creates new Women's Championship

ROH have discontinued the Women of Honor Championship following the whole issue with Kelly Klein, and are introducing the ROH Women's World Championship. The tournament will kick off on April 24th at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, where there will be eight first round matches, featuring some wrestlers who have never competed for ROH before. No word on when the final takes place.

I want to be shitty towards ROH, but by all means it seems like they're trying to better themselves on the surface. Scraping the half assed WOH is a good start.

This is for the best. The "Women of Honor" name is poison, but scrapping women entirely would also be a bad look, and a problem given the women currently under contract.

I just really do not want Allure with the title, any of them. That'd just be combining two of their scandals into one, and I was bored of the Beautiful People like a decade ago.

I really want to see them make good on her, though realistically, Kelly's hopefully going to be picked up somewhere that'll treat her better. WWE, AEW, Impact, any of the three have a better track record with women right now at this point, but that is not a high bar.

In the UK on an RoH tour, in Japan on a Stardom show, and on the first Jericho Cruise.

I'm of two minds on it, in that I do think a clean break from what the division has been is a good call, but I also feel like the money you're putting toward the new belt you could just put toward, like, actually paying some of the women.

Yeah, this just sounds like cosmetic surgery, rather than revitalizing a division. Call it whatever you want ROH, but unless things are handled differently, you're still no where close to treating your women talent with honor.
