I mean, that'd be wild, but I seriously doubt it for logistic reasons.
Would be cool to see them be able to hit up Japan, though, someday, even if it'd no doubt be a more modest venue.

Given the Meltzer jokes:
Wonder what the first 5 star rating for AEW in 2020 will be, since they had Cody/Dustin, then Bucks/Lucha Bros ladder match for 2019.
Would be fun if Hangman Page manages to get one this year. He will be the final Elite member to get one, since Bucks, Kenny, Cody, Cole, and Marty all have at least one each, Kenny and the Bucks quite a few.

I'm sure it might be a long term goal, since AEW had its literal start outside the Dome on New Year's 2019.
Emphasis on "long term goal."

Maybe a joint show with New Japan?
What is AEW current television deal in Japan?

They aren't anywhere close to doing it yet, but maybe eventually.

At some point? Maybe. It's probably on the Goals list, but they wanna do a European Tour first and Cody even said such.

Not on their own they can’t. Some years it barely feels like New Japan can... and they're the only ones that can really do it. Even WWE have scaled back to Sumo Hall-level buildings.

The way Meltzer loves AEW and the Tokyo Dome he'd give every match a 5 star even before the event took place. Lol

They never actually sell it out, do they? Or if they do it’s only been for a handful of events. I’ve read people mentioning that there were still tons of tickets literally right before the event. Of course they may have some walk up fans that would allow it to sell out. But I don’t think so. I know chazraps has been to a Dome show. Did it look legitimately sold out? With that mass of humanity it’s probably next to impossible to tell, but some events are more obvious than others when they have a ton of seats to fill/tape off.

It depends on the definition of "sell-out" really. Do you sell every seat in the house? They did that 2 times in the 90's. Fill every seat in the house? About 4 times. Sell every ticket they had available, despite not opening every seat? Add a couple more. Is NJPW capable of doing this nowadays? No. But they seem to be the only company with enough pull with the Japanese crowd to run a successful show there.

Has any wrestling company beyond NJPW booked the Tokyo Dome as a stand alone show? I could see maybe a Wrestling Kingdom event more like was Global Impact was in 2008 (I think that was the year) where the card was more head to head.

Would New Japan allow this? This would be as big a poke in their eye as ROH running in MSG was to WWE I would think.

Obviously neither is able to do anything of the sort in their current state. And the "Global Impact" thing wasn't really a two way street. It was 100% a NJPW event (Wrestle Kingdom 2 in this case) with some TNA wrestlers in it and that TNA tried to rebrand for themselves state side to make some bucks out of it (because TNA).

Considering they allowed Jericho to bring the AEW Title to Wrestle Kingdom 14 and acknowledged him as the AEW Champion, I would think they have a relaxed stance towards them.
