Boring day at work today so I got to thinking, if for each Royal Rumble over the years, I had bet on the winning entry number as being my age at the time of the Rumble, how successful would I have been? So i've crunched the numbers, and these are the years you would have had to have been born for this system to pay off even a little bit (though if your birthday is early January, you'd need to add 1 to the 'Birth Year' column): Year | Winner | Entry Number | Winning Birth Year | 1987 | One Man Gang | 19 | 1968 | 1988 | Hacksaw Jim Duggan | 13 | 1975 | 1989 | Big John Studd | 27 | 1962 | 1990 | Hulk Hogan | 25 | 1965 | 1991 | Hulk Hogan | 24 | 1967 | 1992 | Ric Flair | 3 | 1989 | 1993 | Yokozuna | 27 | 1966 | 1994 | Bret Hart | 27 | 1967 | 1994 | Lex Luger | 24 | 1970 | 1995 | Shawn Michaels | 1 | 1994 | 1996 | Shawn Michaels | 18 | 1978 | 1997 | Stone Cold Steve Austin | 5 | 1992 | 1998 | Stone Cold Steve Austin | 24 | 1974 | 1999 | Vince McMahon | 2 | 1997 | 2000 | The Rock | 24 | 1976 | 2001 | Stone Cold Steve Austin | 27 | 1974 | 2002 | Triple H | 22 | 1980 | 2003 | Brock Lesnar | 29 | 1974 | 2004 | Chris Benoit | 1 | 2003 | 2005 | Batista | 28 | 1977 | 2006 | Rey Mysterio | 2 | 2004 | 2007 | Undertaker | 30 | 1977 | 2008 | John Cena | 30 | 1978 | 2009 | Randy Orton | 8 | 2001 | 2010 | Edge | 29 | 1981 | 2011 | Alberto Del Rio | 38 | 1973 | 2012 | Sheamus | 22 | 1990 | 2013 | John Cena | 19 | 1994 | 2014 | Batista | 28 | 1986 | 2015 | Roman Reigns | 19 | 1996 | 2016 | Triple H | 30 | 1986 | 2017 | Randy Orton | 23 | 1994 | 2018 | Shinsuke Nakamura | 14 | 2004 | 2018 | Asuka | 25 | 1993 | 2019 | Seth Rollins | 10 | 2009 | 2019 | Becky Lynch | 28 | 1991 | 2020 | Drew McIntyre | 16 | 2004 | 2020 | Charlotte Flair | 17 | 2003 |
I was born in 1981, so my only win would have been with Edge in 2010. The 3 luckiest years, with 3 wins each are 1974, 1994 and 2004. Not sure how 1984 missed out on that sequence, but it has zero wins.

I didn’t know Seth Rollins was 11 years old. He’s been in the WWE since he was an infant. He’ll be a monster when he hits his growth spurt

Shawn Michaels, John Cena and Randy Orton. Quite fitting for 94 as I have grown up watching them.
