It sometimes feels like almost every commercial I watched in the 80s was Sy Sperling, George Zimmer or Jim "Mattress Mack" McIngvale.

Only remember him from WMX. As a naive 9-year old German, I thought he was a big deal in the US if he appeared at WM.

Only remember him from WMX. As a naive 9-year old German, I thought he was a big deal in the US if he appeared at WM. RIP. I’m Canadian but he kind of was. He was certainly ubiquitous. It wasn’t like people didn’t know who he was, in the West.

For something done as a gag, I recall the toupee looking pretty decent, but I can imagine Sy would have wanted it to be good considering how poorly it'd reflect on his business if they had him on to just say it sucked.
