I may be in the minority, but looking back, I actually enjoyed the Evolution/Reign of Terror stuff. If we can ignore the Katie Vick stuff, the rest of it was reminiscent of old school NWA booking where the heels dominated and the faces chased the champion. It's a paradox, where wrestling fans complain that there are no true heels anymore, but they get pissed off when the heels they don't like win all the time, and then they complain about the product. Is anybody claims true heel heat didn't exist past the internet age, needs to look back at Evolution. And that's what we got with Evolution. Triple H went over Booker T, RVD and Kane and the internet was outraged. But when you look back at the end game from Triple's Reign of Terror, it was to get Batista over at the top babyface, which they did. So all and all we are still talking about it. And it came during a time when wrestling fans claimed they were smart to wrestling secrets and incapable of truly hating the bad guy, but bought into everything hook line and sinker.

Didn't ratings and PPV buyrates nosedive for Raw during the Reign of Terror? That's not good heel heat. I was definitely one of those who stopped watching WWE because of it.

The thing I remember most about the reign of terror was that I had my CAWs in my WWE video games beat HHH up. A lot.

Don't think the endgame was to put Batista over. It kind of just happened.

Here's something a lot of people may have not noticed about this run.
One week, Rock puts over Hurricane.
Next week, HHH pins him and buries him.
What's up with that?

Don't think the endgame was to put Batista over. It kind of just happened. I believe it was supposed to be Orton but his attitude caused them to drop that. As for the Reign of Terror, I loved it.

I’m a HHH fan but even I had to tap on those 30 minute show opening promos where he never said anything of value.
Pretty sure every script weekly just said: “HHH promo about nothing(30 minutes)”

People keep acting like the Hurricane won a hard fought match with the chokeskam. What actually happened was the Rock was squashing the Hurricane until Austin caused a distraction allowing for a rollup.

I did like "bicycle shorts" and "color underwear" era HHH.
It freshened up his look, with the colors and being fat.

Throughout his land, he layeth a brutal hand upon all who opposed him. No mercy was shown, and all were unforgiven.

Growing up as a kid I hated Triple H but over the years I look back fondly at Triple H as WHC.

I somehow survived the first round from September 2002 - WM20. But the second run from September 2004 - WM21, combined with JBL's reign over on Smackdown, seriously killed my interest in the entire WWE product. I took about a 2-year break starting around February 2005, and those two reigns running concurrently was a major contributor to that hiatus.

Clean shaven and looking like blue blood 1996 Hunter Hearst Helmsley was cool. So his feuds and going over might have sucked. His looked ruled though. This beard crap of today is quite old.
