Is this the first TMNT thing to emphasize the first part of their name so strongly to the point they got teenage actors to play the Turtles?

Movie's essentially already made back its entire production budget, and will probably turn a profit by the end of the weekend. Goes to show the benefits of reasonably budgeting.

Things I never expected to see in a Ninja Turtles movie - {Spoiler}1. Scenes from Ferris Bueller's Day Off. 2. An extended vomit sequence. 3. The Turtles learning ninjitsu from YouTube. 4. Splinter and Scumbug making out. 5. Somebody saying "Staten Island is the best borough". It is objectively not. In fact it wouldn't make the top five.

That was great, I loved it. I’m not, like, a TMNT Superfan - dug the cartoon, the og movies, a lot of games, and some offshoots, but I found this to be one of the top portrayals. It had, what I think is one of the most important aspects of the turtles, a charm to it.
The soundtrack was boss and definitely screamed of that age range between millennial and whatever the hell generation Rogan and company are.
Ice cube KILLED it. Stole the show for me. Also, I was surprised how much I liked this portrayal of April. She was enchanting.
I had two minor gripes: I dug the art style, and there’s a charm to it, but it came across as “cheapy looking” to me at times, specifically with smoke. If they do a sequel, my hope is they keep the quaint art style but jazz it up a little with some of the wider aspects in scope. And the other thing was I found Donatello to be more of a Michelangelo than Mikey himself. Michelangelo rarely seemed like the what we’d expect of the character, a lot of the time.
Great flick! Hope they make a sequel!

Saw it with my brother’s family on Friday, big thumbs up across the board. Good story, action and art and one of the funniest movies I’ve seen in a bit.

Oh, they're finishing the Archie comics? Wonder if Ninjara will get a spot.

Oh, they're finishing the Archie comics? Wonder if Ninjara will get a spot. It's unofficial, just fans working with the original creative team.

Been wanting to get the Rick Veitch issues from Mirage TMNT vol 1. Out of print, won't be reprinted as of current time. Use to be at least The River trilogy was easy to find, even if most wanted 6 an issue. Now......I get why Veitch won't agree to let them be reprinted. And while the print run during that part of vol 1 wasn't huge,it was big enough prices shouldn't be where they are.

Paramount+ in Canada has added the first two seasons of the 1987 series. I caught it on Paramount+ UK over Christmas. Family were generous enough to let me watch "Return of the Technodrome" on Christmas Eve. New Tale of the TMNT series debuts "Q3 of 2024"
