What is your general opinion of Anthony Kiedis as a performer?

Pretty good! I'm not crazy about RHCP in general (I really only like One Hot Minute, Californication, and By the Way), but he's a good showman for sure.

As a live act I have only ever seen him be a weak link surrounded by vastly more competent musicians.
On record, he is good with hooks but a tremendous amount of his lyrics are absolute garbage.
When he is good, he is very good.
And I think I hate him more because he is very sexy, but don't want to. Shrug.

I saw RHCP a few years ago. He sorta just stood there and sung. Barely any crowd interaction. And it was a sold out, enthusiastic crowd. But he just didn’t seem into it.

Besides what I hear on the radio, I can’t say as I’ve ever seen him perform. Maybe a music video. RHCP are just one of those bands I don’t like. I don’t even hate their music. Or think it’s bad. I just don’t want to hear them after a song or two.
So my answer is....he’s fine with an I dunno.

Him and Frusciante both aged ridiculously well for recovering heroin addicts.

I think he's very charismatic, hence why it took until hearing the songs over and over when working to realize I actively disliked RHCP music as opposed to being passively apathetic about them.

Mike Patton is a better Kiedis performer than Kiedis is That said, I do like that one song he wrote about California.

Saw RHCP back during the blood sugar sex majik era. Kiedis was kinda a dead fish on stage. But Flea is a whirlwind, back then at least. So it kinda balanced out.
Really since BSSM I have found each album to be a major step down.

The reason I asked the question (other than pure quarantine boredom) is I like RHCP and Anthony, but I couldn't honestly say he was a particularly good singer or rapper.
