The higher-profile stars on NXT:UK will be absorbed into main NXT Walter has made it clear he has no interest in working on the US side of things anymore. Others aren't willing to move or have visa issues. It also undermines what NXT UK was probably sold to as by those talents; you can make good money and still work the independents (That WWE tells you that you can work at unless there’s a conflict or you’re needed elsewhere etc etc). If that wasn’t the case and people had to go to Florida, it probably wouldn’t have gone over as well if the offers were made, leaving the opportunity for your AEWs and ROHs to come in with better, more flexible offers.

In another thread, it was mentioned that WWE decided to not have mass tapings and go back to doing the shows live from the Performance Center, likely for contractual obligations to ensure that Fox and USA have no cause to dump out of their deals.
I have a feeling that WWE is going to "strongly suggest" that talent move to the Orlando area and most of the ones who refuse will get cut by August, even if the first wave of the pandemic has calmed down by then.

I'm curious if this will lead to a walkout of talent. Anyone of value will likely find a new home when things are stable again and likely have made enough that they can take the financial hit.

The problem is as others have stated the roster is so bloated right now with so many men and women that have had no major storylines and if crowd shows aren't happening for a while then sadly a lot of men and women going may be out of work.
Gotta think with NXT and 205 live that a lot of the signings that are pretty much collecting dust or not being used in real storylines may end up getting released. I mean guys like Wilde, Grimes, Dexter Lumis and pretty much most of the 205 live guys and some of the women that aren't being used. NXT is just too stacked and you couldn't justify having that many people signed before all this happened. It was funny reading reports of them running out of lockers since they at one point had a sign on the wall that said something like "One spot is given, another is taken away" or something to that effect.
And then you look at the main roster. Lower level guys like Crews, Hawkins, Ryder, Shelton, Eric Young, EC3, NWJ and so many others who work Main Event or the live events but aren't being featured i see getting released too sadly.
If it's true they've lost 22 million on Mania i can't see them operating under the same hoarding buisness model.
I am never going to take delight in people losing their jobs. I have family in the tourism industry and it looks like they may be out of work by June. This is an all round shitty, scary time but hopefully if there are any releases then the wrestlers just have to weather the storm and hope that eventually sooner than later things get back on track on a small and large scale.

I'm sure there will be a number that do refuse, but I also think a lot of people underestimate just how many of WWE's workers are of trains of thought that if I go further would break my own board's rules, but regardless, feel this isn't as big a deal as it is. Then there's the ones that simply think they're invincible from stuff like this, the ones that see this as an opportunity to slide up the card, etc.

Beyond any of that, a shitload of them already live in Florida because of NXT/FCW to begin with, so they probably have plenty to work with.

I know people who are refusing to leave their home in case they may be infected but I also see people who genuinely don't see it as a big deal and go to ten grocery stores a day out of boredom cause they think they're invincible.

Hopefully, anyone who ends up getting released due to these tragic and unforeseen circumstances can look to Braun Strowman for some advice....

That mindset will probably change once a wrestler contracts it and gives everyone in the company a serious reality check.

It felt inevitable, but I hate that it’s gotten to this. Really feel for all those affected.

When the announcements start, please use the thread linked here instead of the one I started. I'll probably lock this one shortly.
