WrestleMania VI was one of my favorite shows as a kid. So many guys from a few years earlier were still somewhat big stars before the next coming years becoming jobbers. There was a lot of cool color at the show with the outfits and theme songs and whether Warrior won or not it just seemed like a new era of wrestling.

Good to see him speak highly of Tito/Barbarian. That's kind of a hidden gem, and it's a shame it's dismissed by most fans.

I wish Barbarian had a theme at the show. I think he and the Bolsheviks were the only guys to get ring cart intros with no theme. IIRC Bad News and Andre and Haku were already in the ring during the intro. This show mirrors Wrestlemania III a lot in my opinon. Both feel like a changing of them times, both have that ring cart and both seem to be so stacked with guys who were still very popular at the time while most following wrestle manias seemed to have lots or guys on the roster who weren't as over as they had once been.

Never understood Steve Allen's "I havent been this excited since I found out Pee Wee Herman was straight" line.

Never understood Steve Allen's "I havent been this excited since I found out Pee Wee Herman was straight" line. I THINK it might be a gay panic kinda joke, since with the voice and mannerisms he wasn't "manly" he could be read as gay? You'd think it'd be something to do with his arrest, but that wasn't til the next year.

WMVI always felt like the end of an era show to me; Jesse's Ventura last PPV, Andre's final televised WWF match, the last big hurrah of Demolition, and the conclusion to Hogan's second most notable WWF title reign, with all the others after never quite feeling as significant. A lot of the talent and its current image would go on in the next two years, but the whole thing had a feel of being the capstone on WWF's 80s popularity before it began struggling with relevance for the next couple of years.

WM6 was one of my favorite shows to watch over and over again as a kid. Hogan vs. Warrior was everything a WM main event should be.

Glad to see BZ review this show. Tony and Conrad recently did the same on WHW which was great. WM6 is the show that hooked me as a fan so any reviewer that I enjoy that covers WM 6 I will check it out. It's probably the wrestling show I've seen the most times. I rented the tape so many times as a kid.
