I have mostly played the first game, but I tell myself that I need to try the other ones as well. Then again, I think I should finish the first one as well. I just haven't played in a while. I did get far, however. Finish the first one before you jump into the others I've played them out of sequence but the first one really is the one that ties everything together since it is the start of the journey I would say go 0 next since that is the prequel and then you can work on the others Be prepared to be disappointed playing the rest of the games after playing the best in the series though.

The rest of them are fine. 2 is essentially a zero clone Except no more racing minigames which is a f***ing blow

Yeah, the series can get a bit thirsty in terms of sex, and, well...it didn't have the most sterling representations of the LBGT Community.

Binged the hell out of these games these past couple of months, finished 6 about two weeks ago and loved them all. Never thought I’d have so much fun with racing toy cars and owning a cabaret club in a video game but they really made it work. Kiryu has become one of my favorite gaming protagonists, I love what an awkward goof he is when out of his element. I was going to play the Last of Us games next but they might have to step aside for Judgment, don’t think I’m quite ready to leave the Yakuza universe just yet.
Also, this has been in my head for about two months now, so it has to be in yours too.

Finished Kiwami 2 last night
I enjoyed the story up until the last chapter which it seemed like one big hour long cut scene occasionally broken up with a fight. I know it’s a cut scene heavy series but this really seemed to rip it
Also not a fan of the constant turns and X is the real bad guy twists. Felt like I was watching a Vince Russo penned attitude era raw
Strong game I thought but for me personally didn’t stick the landing

Well I’ve still got 3, 4, 5 & 6 in my backlog to play through so I’ll let you know ha Hate would be too strong a word I think. To be honest more than anything I think I was just mentally tired. It was late and it damn near ended up being a 55 minute cut scene which was way too much I though even by Yakuza standards

Just picked Yakuza 0 again, now with the mind to actually play the game, not just "see how it is". Majima's introduction is just the best.

Even though it's not as big as Kamurocho or Sotenbori, Downtown Ryukyu and Okinawa in general was really damn pretty. Like I would want to go there first if I ever finished Japan.

I’m actually near the end of Yakuza 3 and it’s been.....ok
It’s a massive drop going from Kiwami remakes to remasters and the graphics aren’t great
Biggest issue though is the orphanage chapters. They drag on way too much. Like I like the kids and some of the stories are good but I felt like Milhouse watching Poochie in Itchy & Scratchy ha. Just a bit too much of it and it drags the story down a bit for me
Having said though, Chapter 11 was quite sad
And I do like the hells gauntlet super finisher as a move

Man, running that cabaret club in Y0 is one of my favorite minigames I've ever played. Just *muah*.

Finished Yakuza 3. I was laughing when they did the cliffhanger into credits and then resolve in post credit scene again ha
I was planning on playing all 6 back to back but I’m kinda thinking I might need to break them up a little because if one more random person comes up to me for a fight that I can’t escape I’m going to scream lol
I’d still kill for a Yakuza based karaoke game

So I've just finished 5, and if there's one major complaint I have about the series so far, it's that so much of the game's difficulty revolves around bosses just blocking everything.
To give a comparison, I've been playing Ghost of Tsushima, and I've been having fun with the combat. What stands out to me is that whenever I have difficulty with a boss fight, I can look at the fight and say 'okay, here's what I did wrong'. And when I eventually win, it feels satisfying.
Whereas the Yakuza games, almost every boss fight I can think of boils down to 'the boss blocks 90% of your offense, they just re-guard immediately after you DO break their guard, and then they break YOUR guard with one hit, leaving you open for a combo you can't guard against'. I rarely feel like I accomplished something, I just end the fight feeling relieved that it's over.
The Amon fights are especially bad. I know they're supposed to be the super-special endgame secret bosses, but so much of those fights just boil down to 'Hey, you know all those cool fighting mechanics you've been encouraged to use the entire game? Yeah, none of those work here. Also, these enemies do a shit-ton of damage and have a bunch of unblockable attacks. Good luck'.

Finished up Judgment today. If you like the Yakuza games and are looking for something to play then I’d definitely recommend giving this one a shot. Started off a little slow at first but damn it heats up quick.

Finished it tonight (So yeah ignore my last post of needing a break....,I just decided to power on through) Kinda really enjoyed this one actually lol.. I dunno if it was because Yakuza 3 story was kinda boring that I was all in for this one maybe? Really enjoyed the multiple protagonists too though even my 6 year old who sometimes wakes up and comes in to go back to sleep lying on me was asking where Kazuma was at the start ha. So I hope they just don’t disappear

Anyone playing Like A Dragon? I don’t hate the new combat system, but I definitely miss just being able to go and bash heads in. I’m only in chapter four but I am digging the story so far and like Ichiban as the protagonist.

I too am in chapter 4, and I really like Ichiban. He’s quite endearing in a way. Looking forward to how the rest of the story develops. I really like Nanba as well. Him blowing fire on people will never get old to me.

I'll probably ask for Like A Dragon for Christmas, since money is tight right now and I wanna finish the others first (even though as far as I can tell LAD is a separate story).
I just finished 3, and it's probably my second favourite after 0 even if the encounter rate with enemies is insane.
