I was wrong. From this thread: officialfan.proboards.com/thread/585787/vince-fires-writer-speech-quits?page=7I'm calling it now - Vince will not be running the company in a year's time. A year and two weeks later, I have to admit, I was wrong. That said, I'm readjusting that projection. Vince will not be running the company by the end of 2020. Sidenote: the first post after that one was this: I'm calling it now - Vince will not be running the company in a year's time. It'll honestly depend on how much additional stress an inevitable second failure of the XFL puts on him. His voting power is still overwhelming, but it'll take nothing short of a medical crisis to pry that power away from him at this point (not wishing that on him of course). Well, not quite the medical crisis anyone was envisioning, but here we are.

I hope so. The thing is, though, he has a massive controlling stake in the company and I can't see him leaving his spot willingly. I mean is there even any kind of recourse to remove him?

He's not going anywhere unless a) he croaks, or b) he gets sent down. I'm not sure either is likely, as I envisage Vince ending up like Richard Nixon in Futurama, an immortal, crazy head in a jar.

He did say in a promo in 98 that that's the only way he'd step down as chairman is the day he died so guess that was a shoot.

Not gonna lie if he somehow makes it through ALL THIS I don't see any other way this ends than with his death.

I whole heartedly agree. Just gonna quote myself from another thread Between all this XFL shit, and everything going on with WWE right now, I just can’t shake this feeling that there is something majorly bad behind the scenes that we have no idea about. I’m not going to try and pretend to know what it is, and I don’t even want to speculate, but I’m positive that there is something major that hasn’t leaked out yet. Too much weird shit

Vince could’ve easily retired in 2009-2010 and rode off into the sunset to enjoy the rest of his life with far less stress not having to shutdown an entire franchise (for the 2nd time) nor having to worry about running a wrestling business during a pandemic while ratings continue to decline, but I admire his hustle.

McMahon should just sail to some beach with the rest of XFL money and enjoy his life of luxury and sexy dance parties. 1st picture in next 5 years we'll see him with the rumoured hobo army and having a wise otter on his shoulder.

Thing is, this is his life. Some guys can't retire. He'd be dead within a year if he ever stepped down. So one way or another he'll either stop when he's dead or he's dead when he stops.

He’ll still be around. I’d say sometime within the next five years, he’ll have to relinquish power due to not being physically or cognitively capable. And even that’s a bet I’d be iffy on taking.

It's only an actual prediction here if something (preferably an item of clothing) is promised to be eaten.

Oh for sure, there’s a deep depression that people tend to go through when they’ve had a routine or specific occupation for countless years and suddenly switch to not having those responsibilities. I think affects a person even more when it’s something they genuinely enjoyed doing. Vinny Mac going from 40 years on the road with the boys while running a major corporation to suddenly sitting in a quiet mansion everyday in Connecticut would be a drastic change. For me that would sound like a dream! But I understand why someone wouldn’t want to do that by choice.

Yeah, it reminds me of Charles Schulz... he died the day the last Peanuts comic was published. big lifestyle changes like that can kill you.

I don't see Vince giving up the seat any time soon and the McMahons hold pretty much all of the voting power from what I remember so forcing him out is real hard...
