That's not a typo. The write-up for the following video says he was 16 at this point, but that's wrong. This took place in 1975 (Gordy's rookie year under the name Terry Mecca) and Gordy was born in 1961.

Some wild selling from Gordy there, flying airborne on a chest slap.

Great find. What was the IWA? Another outlaw from the NWA?

"Beautiful Bruce" seems to think that "gracious" means the same thing as "graceful."

Great find. What was the IWA? Another outlaw from the NWA? Yes, they were outside of the NWA group, so technically an outlaw. The International Wrestling Association was formed in 1975 with the intention of being the first promotion to go national, and were the one of the first - if not THE first - promotion to sign their top stars to guaranteed contracts. Money ran out fast for the original promoter, who bailed after a year and the promotion hobbled along until 1978, when they lost an expensive lawsuit against Jim Crockett accusing him of monopolizing the Mid-Atlantic area. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Wrestling_Association_(1970s)

So this thread inspired me to make a change. God damn Ladd was so good, he could have been THE star in any other era. You can see that Gordy was going to be something special, took some great bumps and threw really solid punches. Those forearms in the corner though...yeesh.
Also, definitely thought Beautiful Bruce was Rob Reiner

He was probably sent by old Thundermouth Patterson or that Dirty Rhodes. Them no good whiskey drinkers always trying to undercut the Big Cat. Ernie just trying to be an honest wrestler!
