If I recall correctly, in Heenan's book, Bobby took credit for the way he was removed. It was something in the line of that the Brain character couldn't have a dignified exit and kayfabe-wise (and personally) Gorilla would be the best person to get rid of the Brain. Even though Bobby might have suggested it and it fit the character etc, I wish he was able to leave with a little more dignity.

Bobby Heenan probably should have never left. at least until the attitude era. He still would have fit in well through 96 and early 97. I know he was closer to his daughter by going to WCW, but I never really got the point of view of "There was nothing left for him to do." He could have remained on color.

Considering they were phasing out Monsoon around 1993, they would have ended up doing the same to Heenan eventually, having him just host the weekend recap shows (maybe they could have done something with him when Monsoon became WWF President I suppose).

I just wish he could have done commentary during Owen Hart’s run. He could have been the new Flair in terms of Heenan’s commentary bias. It would have been hilarious, especially during the Bret feud.

Heenan mentioned in a shoot interview how much it meant to him that at his last Raw taping, Owen said that him leaving would be a big loss for the company, shook his hand, and wished him luck.
