EDIT: I don't really keep up, I'm assuming this is legit and not storyline? Give a guy an insane amount of screen time for two weeks after years of nothing and then do this. Why? What's the point?

I don’t know if it’s legit or not (leaning towards work... I wasn’t watching). All I can think of now is how someone’s gonna replace him in this match, it’ll probably be someone everyone hates and they’ll probably win, as some kind of monkey paw thing for those saying Crews was getting pushed too hard too quickly after doing nothing for so long.

I dunno, it felt pretty angle-riffic tonight on Raw. As in the U.S. title match with him and Andrade was stopped with him selling the leg. But it seemed to be worked into the storyline of that match.

Total work. He "tweaked" his knee doing a moonsault landing on his feet, continued working, landed on his feet on a Frogsplash attempt, and the ref stopped the match.
This is likely the backdoor that Triple H uses to get in the MITB, which has been rumored.

If it's a work...I mean, what the everliving f***? Haven't they given him over an hour's worth of screen time on just two shows to suddenly do a bait and switch angle?

Hope it’s just a storyline injury but dude is so boring I’m glad he didn’t win the us title.

Seemed to be a work, they’re building Crews some sympathy and I think it’s working. He’s trending on Twitter and he had more character development tonight than he did in his entire run so far.

I thought it would have been perfect to give him the title. Then if they want to take him out of MITB have somebody jump him before the match. Now he just looks has lame as he did before all of this started.

Big picture, Andrade most likely takes his place and when Apollo comes back, he goes after Andrade and likely wins the title, which does him more good in the long run.

"Big picture" and "long run" don't really apply to anything in WWE's booking anymore.

"Big picture" and "long run" don't really apply to anything in WWE's booking anymore. They kind of need to now because they have limited options.

Big picture, Apollo disappears for months and is forgotten about, except for the random appearances where commentary reminds us how he's THIS CLOSE to being a breakout star, don't you know?

It definitely seemed like a work to me. If it was legit they wouldn't have filmed that backstage segment with him on crutches in the training room and Charley trying to interview him.
