Really if you wanted to loosely adapt a terrible Ultimates story there'd probably be way more material in going with the Ultimates 3 thing of someone trying to destroy the heroes with bad PR while picking them off. Would be fairly similar to the movie of Civil War admittedly but I think you could move it in a different direction that doesn't feel too redundant if you worked at it.

Wasn't the bad press in Ultimates 3 a sex tape of Tony and Natasha?
Dodged that bullet RJD and SJ

The more I think of it, why even use the title? Is that really a book you want to promote by association? Might as well call the next Spider-Man movie "Sins Past". Not gonna lie, I think the MCU could do a Secret Empire plot better than the infamous story from a few years ago.

Yeah this should be something thrown into the trash and then set on fire.

Also Jeremy Conrad isn't exactly credible. Like he's better than say Cosmic Book News or Bleeding Cool and those shitweasels, but he's not like an actual inside source.

Considering Evans seems to be done as Cap and he was vocally critical of the story as it was being written, I don't see it in the cards. You'd probably need to cast a new Steve and immediately make him evil, which isn't the best first impression a new actor would want.

They’d probably just do an “in name only” version with someone else other than Cap being the evil Hydra defector.

It'd be easy enough to have Bucky's programming kick back in.
I don't wanna see it, but that would be the easiest way.

I think Wanda is going to be one of the next big bads and it’s perfect. Nothing is going to affect them like having to take one of their own out. She’s already getting mentally unstable before she has full use of her powers and Dr. Strange 2 is supposed to result in full on Scarlet Witch.
She’s lost her parents, her country, Quicksilver, Vision and who knows if Vision or two other people make it out of WandaVision as actual beings. She’s gonna crack.
I think that’s the perfect introduction to the X-Men to be honest. Have the reason Wanda and Piotr survived the Stone experiments be that they are actually mutants and the stone turned their powers on. Wanda starts to lose control and Xavier offers to help. This leads to an Avengers vs X-Men with them fighting over Wanda and her well being. She loses full control and they have to team up to stop her. Credits scene has her in power inhibitors at a Shield facility somewhere when some magnetic guy shows up asking her to join his Brotherhood.

I will never understand people's fascination with making Wanda a bad guy. It just doesn't work and always revolves around making her suddenly crazy in order to be evil, which is kinda ableist in itself when you really think about it.

I don’t think she’s going to be evil per say. There’s a reason temporary insanity gets thrown around in court. Problem is temporary insanity plus massive powers is a bad combo.

It feels like such a lame cop-out that plays into the worst insane = violent stereotypes. It's like the writers basically admit "there's no good reason for this character to be a villain so we'll just say that they're temporarily crazy"as if that's even when this works.

You WANT Bucky to be an evil Hydra leader? The part about his brainwashing kicking in is what I was talking about.

I highly doubt they adapt the comic, it was pure garbage. They probably just use the title like Age Of Ultron.
